Amygdalin is a procyanogenic glycoside — also known as vitamin B-17, the “antineoplastic vitamin.”

Soaking almonds for a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of 3 days decomposes traces of amygdalin into the much more chemically active hydrocyanic acid, also known as hydrogen cyanide or prussic acid.

Oversoaking almonds beyond 3 days ferments them (not a good thing) and oxidizes such compounds as benzaldehyde into benzoic acid.

Almonds also contain cancer-inhibiting protease inhibitors, such as phenols and tannins.

The tannins are mostly in the almond’s skin.

For extra tannins, drink the almond water.

For less tannins, avoid the almond water.

For diarrhea, drink the almond water.

For constipation, avoid the almond water.

For memory improvement, drink 3-day-old almond water as a mordant and photographic developer to enhance data storage via tannic acid and its metabolic byproduct, gallic acid.

The almond is in “geometric body resonance” with the amygdala in the limbic system of the brain — amygdala is the Greek word for “almond.”

Endocannabinoids elevate both anandamide and 2-arachidonylglycerol in the basolateral amygdala — substances associated with the reduction of fear conditioning and aversive memories.

Analmond contains the “12 Basic Minerals” of Adano Ley’s Solar Nutrition — calcium, carbon, chlorine, fluorine, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, sodium, and sulfur.

Excess hydrocyanic acid is a poison (making the blood cherry-red in color because it can’t deliver oxygen to tissues), but a little bit is medicine.

The phosphorus and potassium in an almond help hydrocyanic acid target potential cancer cells.

Eating foods containing the food additives sodium nitrite or sodium thiosulfate at the same meal with almonds blocks hydrocyanic acid’s beneficial effects.

Horticultural experiments have shown that hydrocyanic acid release is greatest in the morning, a good reason for eating soaked almonds at Stomach Time (7:00-9:00 am).

Swami Nitty-Gritty (Adano Ley) advised …

“The first bite of the day should be almond to set the full strength of hydrochloric acid for all-day protein digestion.

“When you leave hydrochloric acid in your stomach, the saliva and hydrochloric acid become toxic.

“Almonds are set up like a scanner in the airport.

“Presoak themfor quick germinal action.

“When soaked, almonds act as protein plus nitrogen.

“A bowel movement is a waste product — protein minus nitrogen.

“Soak almonds beyond 6 hours but not beyond 3 days, or fermentation begins, increasing carbon dioxide.

“The third day is optimum — plus, minus, neutral.

“Soaking almonds for 3 days causes the tannic acid square root reaction.”

(Don’t ask. I don’t know what it is either!)

What is the effect of roasting almonds or other nuts and seeds and then adding oil or butter and salt ?

How does roasting compare to soaking ?

There’s nothing “wrong” with roasting nuts or seeds.

Roasting destroys much of the anticarcinogenic factor NITROGEN (aka the “Green Giant”), but you can always get nitrogen elsewhere – making sure you get it in the appropriate “growth zones” for maximum protection.

Soaking converts amygdalin into prussic acid by “water stress.” Roasting does not.

Dextrinization is a higher choice than roasting. :)

Heating foods for a minimum of 20 minutes (foods other than grains usually take longer) at a temperature of 180 degrees Fahrenheit converts starch into dextrose (glucose).

Grains dextrinized for more than 20 minutes are pretty much inedible.

Foods like potatoes can be dextrinized at high temperatures by baking them without foil.

A potato “baked” in foil is a steamed potato, not a dextrinized one.

A microwaved potato is ALL starch and NO sugar.

    Hi atom,
I have been using this concoction for several weeks and it’s amazing. Also, multiple friends are using it with great results. Can we just say life has become more regular along with all the other suprises.
We you be in the know of curing tennis elbow? I continue to try remedies which have little to no effect. If possible could you respond to this request.

Tennis elbow relates to the Spleen-Pancreas Meridian and its 3 “shunts” – and any emotional trauma precipitated into the spleen or pancreas.

It also relates to such seemingly unrelated muscles as the middle trapezius of the back and the opponens pollicis of the hand.

One mechanical way to prevent tennis elbow is to write with a pen (or pencil) holding it between the thumb and middle finger instead of the thumb and index finger.

    Atom,

Could you please elaborate on the topic of excess mucus: clear sticky think liquid in sinuses, throat that has nothing to do with colds or flu ?

    1. In Ayurveda, it is a sign of _kapha_ (earth, water) aggravation, correct?

    2. Following your interviews it also has to do over-alkaline condition in the body, correct?

    3. Mucus and alkaline state is more about elimination than retention and encapsulation, correct?

    4. Does mucus necessarily mean there is bacterial infection in the body?

    5. Mucus is protein, right? It sure looks like egg-white. Why excess protein has to do with alkaline reaction?

    6. Please, write about ways to move body into a more acidic state, preferably without use of meat, fish and eggs.

    Thanks in advance!

Egg white and blood plasma have much in common.

Mucus (mucin) is a glycoprotein …

      (1) defending against toxins, allergens, fungi, bacteria, and viruses, and

      (2) providing a secondary method of cell-to-cell communication independent of neurotransmitters.

Excess acid tends to encapsulate, e.g., constipation, pimples, boils, tumors, etc.

Excess alkali tends to eliminate, e.g., diarrhea, inflammation, ulcers, etc.

Generally, too little mucus accompanies an overacidic syndrome, whereas too much mucus accompanies an overalkaline syndrome.

The exception to the rule is our own Immunological Intelligence – when the body’s autonomic Innate Intelligence initiates its own acidic chemotherapy against an overalkaline assault, or an alkaline chemotherapy against an overacid assault.

Stay tuned to Atom’s Blog for more info on acidic anabolism and alkaline catabolism. :)

I have read that purchased already shelled almonds have lost some of their nutrients due to the soaking process used before machines take off the shell. So what is best when soaking the almonds: already deshelled or shell them yourself and does it really matter.

We’re vulnerable to how fresh either shelled or unshelled almonds are.

I use shelled almonds that haven’t been heat-treated (when I can find them).

        Atomb,

I have type B blood so almonds are not beneficial for that blood type, is there another nut I could eat for breakfast that might give me the same benefits.

Also might you be able to tell me where to find on-
line where I could find non-simplified morning, midday and night food lists even complete if possible.

        Thanks.

I do the reverse of the Blood Type Diet due to the anticarcinogenic benefits of LECTINS.

My sole Blood Type criteria is …

          (1) Types B and O do better with a little meat in their diet.

          (2) Meat is not as important to Types A and AB.

Consult eatsolar.com for a good Food List. :)

    Atom’s reply to “yalter” …

Switching to dextrinized food is not unlike raising the octane level in gasoline.

It makes you sleepier at first, but gives you more energy once you adapt to it.

Dextrinization can help with allergies too, by breaking down large protein chains into smaller ones.

The two have a general relationship .

Why would making the GI higher be better than preparing food in a way to make it digest slower and level the person out ?

          • June 10, 2011 @ 5:36 pm atomb

Glycemic index only makes a difference if you’re eating refined sugar by the spoonful.

Even glycemic load (glycemic index times the amount of available carbohydrate divided by 100) falls short of biological actuality.

For example, eating a meal in a humid climate slows down digestion.

So – if your standard is “leveling out” – you would do better by eating your meals on foggy days in San Francisco.

The stomach processes fish and wild game in an hour or so – even unchewed fish and wild game.

Most well-chewed fruits or vegetables – dextrinized or not – spend at least 3 hours in the stomach.

Unchewed or partly chewed fruits or vegetables often don’t digest at all.

Stay tuned to Atom’s Blog for my sources – one of them an M.D. in the 1820s who fed a man with a hole (fistula) in his stomach via both mouth and the hole itself for years – and even smelled and TASTED the chemical reactions on an ongoing basis.

            Talk about dedication to science!!!!

Have you heard of the insulin index .?

It explains why Chinese white rice is high GI
but does not necessarily make people who eat a lot of it fat or unhealthy .

    Reply

    • June 12, 2011 @ 2:06 pm atomb

Yes. Insulin response is not limited to carbohydrates.

For example, see page 149 of Brain Allergies: The Psychonutrient and Magnetic Connections, by William H. Philpott, M.D., & Dwight K. Kalita, Ph.D., 1987.

TRAUMA is the major driver of insulin index, followed by TIMING.

Insulin index has been used extensively for over 100 years.

          Medical amnesia.

The “new” insulin index diet books – the first one published in 1997 – are reinventing the wheel.

Above all, EMOTIONAL TRAUMA affects insulin index.

In 1927, R.T. Woodyatt wrote (Journal of the American Medical Association, No. 89), “It’s interesting to be able to measure the power of emotion in terms so tangible as ounces of sugar.”

          More medical amnesia.

Yoga Recycling – not diet or drugs – is the answer to diabetes.

Preventing diabetes 2 is a breeze.

Preventing diabetes 1 requires a major restructuring of the personality – including intrauterine emotional trauma patterns.

I think the very new school says th GI is only part of the story to weight loss or balance .

I was wondering why rice which is so high GI ,but places in the world that eat a lot of rice are usually very thin .

        • June 14, 2011 @ 1:04 pm atomb

Re: I think the very new school says the GI is only part of the story to weight loss or balance.

Exactly what the VERY OLD SCHOOL has been saying for over 100 years.

GI is only relevant to dissociated ingredients.
