-Kaz shares:In the theory of Spagyric Medicine, It is said that the fundamentals of a living body are the three principals of Sulfur, Mercury and Salt which when present make something alive. They come in three forms, metallic, vegetable and animal, as in Metallic sulfur, metallic mercury, metallic salt, vegetable sulfur, vegetable mercury etc.

In these three kingdoms Sulfur, Mercury and Salt have different characteristics such as in the vegetable realm sulfur is contained in the plants essential oils, Mercury from the plants alcohol and salt from calcination or leaching it out of the ashes of the plant.
In the metallic realm sulfurs are oily, mercury is very volatile and acid form to which the name vinegar was given and salt in the form of a residual ash.

In these three realms sulfur is the soul of the composite, as it ensures its animation . Animation is only possible if live Mercury is present because it ensures Sulfur-Salt- soul body link. Without Mercury the sulfur is constrained to remain inactive.
In itself Sulfur is always pure, it is disturbed by terrestrial impurities which get caught in it.
The role of mercury (of the spirit) consists of reunion of body and soul.
Sulfur is the soul which animates the body through the Mercury, which is the bond between the body and soul, whereas the Salt is the body…. Christians can ponder the reasons for the choice of bread, wine and salt in their rites.
