One Radio Network Producer and Webmaster says “No” to a Smartmeter, and is without electricity – Monday’s Podcasts will be available on Tuesday, October 9

We apologize for any inconvenience, but Producer Sharon found herself without electricity during todays shows due to her smart meter refusal.

Dear Listeners,

I’m sitting here at 7:15 at the Cincinnati Public Library attempting to do the minimum to update the website. If you’ve been following the story on Open Phone Fridays, you will know that I have kindly refused Duke Energys smart meter. It was 37 degrees this morning when I got up , so of course the idea of providing a safe and warm home for my daughter is paramount, therefore my day was spent buying a generator, lamps, oil, candles etc. Wouldn’t it have just been easier to have let the workers into my basement to switch my meter? Yes, it would have and honestly I’d have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror tomorrow. There is a point where I feel it necessary to really examine our behavior and passivity when it comes to our freedoms. We will collectively wake up one day in straitjackets and just wonder where our freedoms went. Well, I can tell you that not paying attention and not acting on principles can be very dangerous and quite frankly, I don’t wish to participate in such laziness. I’ll keep you posted and will work here at the library every afternoon to continue to bring you the best guests, articles and other tidbits of information, so if I’m a little tardy on posting shows, please just bare with me. My compliments to you Sharon for making the highly conscious and courageous choice that you did.

    When unconscious culture waves swell,
we must swim through the tide!
    At the very least,
    we will be stronger
    for having tried.

    Sincerely, Jim Marlowe

Good to hear from you Jim and thank you for the support. And it’s true, I may not be able to change their regulations, but I will indeed try. Take Care, Sharon

        Stand strong and fight.
Here in Canada they are trying the same thing here but if you look into the government acts that details smart meters they point somethings out for us.

        In the CLEAN ENERGY ACT,

        Smart meters section 17,

        (5) The authority may, by itself, or by its engineers, surveyors, agents, contractors, subcontractors or employees, enter on any land, other than a private dwelling, without the consent of the owner, for a purpose relating to the use, maintenance, safeguarding, installation, replacement, repair, inspection, calibration or reading of its meters, including smart meters, or of its smart grid.

Then look at their definition of a private dwelling.

        “private dwelling” means

        (a) a structure that is occupied as a private residence, or

        (b) if only part of a structure is occupied as a private residence, that part of the structure;

So the Act says they “need consent” to install a smart meter. No consent = no permission to act.
If they do then its a tort claim for damages.

In the Criminal Code of Canada there are sections that describe “Intimidation” and that is what the hydro company’s are doing.
Also in the code there is “assault with a deadly weapon”.
        And “extortion”.
The hydro company’s have a right of way but only for services and reading the meter. The old meter works fine and is not broken, no service repair call was made.
No gifts of a smart meter are going to be accepted.
You have a contract with the hydro company for a service and they are in default of the contract.

        SUE SUE SUE
here are some bases that one can sue for a tort claim:

intimidation, attempted assault, assault, breach of contract, extortion, trespass, break in and enter, damages, etc,

Did you know Lockheed and Martin are behind the north americian smart meter program?

    We love you : )

  3. Helen says:

What would it take to get you off the grid? How about a campaign to raise enough money for you to be independent of the system?

First they came for you, next they will come for the rest of us.

    Much love and support,
    Helen

  4. Kira says:

Sharon, you shall prevail! If one refuses, it may produce a ripple effect:-)

  5. skg says:

You guys are great! I appreciate your support. There’s a news crew coming this morning to get the story so a little publicity may help. I’ll keep y’all posted. In fact I’m going to write something tonight about it. It’s so hard to get everything I need to get done at the library, but I’ll try to focus later and send a readl update. Cheers, Sharon

  6. Brendan says:

I am glad to hear that you are standing up for yourself, and us. Lots of love to you.
