Dr. Ray Peat, Ph.D

Renowned Nutritional Counselor

Under active Thyroid  comes up often in our discussions with Dr. Peat, as the root cause of lots of things that go bump in the night.

“Hello Patrick from Melbourne Australia,
Just a quick message to say thank you and to let you know that I enjoyed your show with Dr Ray Peat immensely. He has so much knowledge across a broad spectrum of topics. Thank you so much for bringing him on and for doing what you do!!! I hope to hear more of Dr Peat in your future shows.”

“I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your recent interviews with Dr Ray Peat. I am thrilled waiting for the next one. I have known his work for quite some time, but it is so refreshing to listen to your shows. I hope you will carry on with cooperation. Dr Peat has endless knowledge to share and each time I listen to him I find something new and eye-opening. His knowledge and perspective are absolutely unique. In the world of keto, low carb nonsense, sugar hate and corrupted science, he is the last voice of honesty and sanity.” Best regards Ania from Poland

Ray Peat acquired his PhD from the University of Oregon with a specialization in physiology. He started his work on hormones in 1968 and wrote his dissertation in 1972 in which he outlined his ideas on progesterone and the hormones closely related to it. His main thesis is that energy and structure are interdependent at every level.

Sugar is not the villain that has been sold to us over the years.  In early medicine sugar was used to cure Diabetes.

Dr. Peat has been researching the effects of retaining C0 2 and in the past administering CO 2 to the ill

He walks us through the role of Serotonin, Prolactin, lactic acid and oxygen

Low thyroid  is a familiar meme when ever we talk to Dr. Peat, as it comes up as the suspect often for many health challenges

Those finger gadgets telling us the percent of oxygen saturation do not really tell us much

Organic Beet Sugar is a good choice, especially from beets grown in the upper West, with low deuterium water

Sugar does suppress the breakdown of fat

Dr. Peat tells us stressing muscles in a concentric motion builds and releasing slowing the opposite direction tears muscles

Dr. Peat used to sometimes take 5-10 mcg of T3 Thyroid to promote sleep

He has known cases where 25 mg of DHEA caused distress in those who consumed it

Dr. Peat said he took 3-4 thousand units of Pregnenolone with no side effects

Some of the many, many emails:

Dr. Peat is a big fan of milk, including low-fat milk. Does Dr. Peat drink milk with added vitamins, and if so, does he have any concern with the vitamins and/or emulsifiers used? Is there a specific brand or manufacturer that he trusts?

Followup question: Does Dr. Peat drink homogenized milk, or some type that is non-homogenized and perhaps low-temp pasteurized?

From the 1930s through to a peak in the 1970s, many bodybuilders have taken large amounts of desiccated liver tablets to reportedly boost their ability to exercise and build muscle. Does Mr. Peat think there is a possibility of the large amounts of heme iron found in liver becoming a problem of iron toxicity for athletes using high doses of desiccated liver supplements, or is that form of iron less likely to cause inflammatory issues and relatively safe to use?

Along with a diet and lifestyle that actively reduce serotonin levels, are there any foods and supplements that people experiencing a sharp deficiency of dopamine can use to safely restore the body’s healthy levels?

What effect does increasing thyroid have on testosterone, and vice versa, the effect of increasing testosterone on thyroid levels. Also, the relative amount of increase someone might expect to see, and any difference in men and women.

What does Dr. Peat recommend for corns and calluses?

How do we take the edge off Learned Helplessness?

Can Dr Peat comment on how hydrogen works with the oxygen and CO2?
How does hydrogen affect the thyroid?

Some sources advise wearing a hat to keep the head warm to slow aging.  Anything to this?

What does Dr. Peat think is a good way to improve libido in men and women after the age of 40? (Is taking DHA, Progesterone, Pregnenalone a good approach)

Dr Peat doesn’t get mucous?

Doesn’t sugar rip arterial walls which cholesterol then patches?

I often get Optic Migraines… I think that is what they are called
where the vision gets like a wavy under water, or a wavy mirror like the ones in a circus.
I have been trying to figure out what causes them   They often go away after about 3 -10 minutes.

Dr. Ray Peat with this month’s regular visit, and honor to have him for you, October 15, 2019

Patrick, please ask Dr, Peat the next time what his opinion is of ozone therapy, since he is a proponent of oxidative status, which ozone does temporarily to stimulate our internal antioxidant system.
