Introduction to Dr. Hamer’s Germanic/German New Medicine

That there is a connection between the psyche and disease is neither a new discovery, nor is it Dr. Hamer’s discovery. To quote Dr. Hamer:

Through the millennia, humanity has more or less consciously known that all diseases ultimately have a psychic origin and it became a “scientific” asset firmly anchored in the inheritance of universal knowledge; it is only modern medicine that has turned our animated beings into a bag full of chemical formulas.”

Welcome to Dr. Hamer’s page on The German New Medicine.

If this is your first visit, the following will serve as a short introduction:

Twenty years ago, Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer, a German doctor with his own practice in Rome, Italy, received a call in the middle of the night. His 17-year old son had been shot while on holiday in the Mediterranean. Three months later, Dirk died and shortly after, Dr. Hamer, who had been healthy all his life, but who was utterly devastated by this catastrophe, found he had testicular cancer. Rather suspicious about this coincidence, he set about doing research on the personal histories of cancer patients to see whether they had suffered some shock, distress or trauma before their illness.

In time, after extensive research of thousands of patients, Dr. Hamer was finally able to conclude that disease is only brought about by a shock for which we are totally unprepared. This last point is very important. If we can in any way be prepared for the shocking event, we will not become ill. In fact, Dr. Hamer does not like to say ‘cancer’. Rather, it is a special biological response to an unusual situation, and when the ‘shock’ situation is resolved, the body sets about returning to normality. This is a very simplified account, of course. The books explain in detail the complete process.

He presented his work to the university in Germany with which he was affiliated. Without testing or proving his hypothesis, they asked him to deny his findings. Since he could not possibly contemplate denying what he had scientifically proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, he refused. As a result, his licence to practice medicine was withdrawn and the situation remains unchanged to this day. Even though the University of Tubingen was ordered by a court of law to hold tests to prove the theories, they have never done so.

Dr. Hamer’s life has been a turmoil of events ever since, culminating in an eighteen-month prison sentence in Germany, served in cells with common criminals. Much of the opposition he has had to face has come from the fact that the person who accidentally killed Dirk was the Prince of Savoy, the last King of Italy’s son. A complicated, difficult and delicate situation, as anyone can imagine.

Dr. Hamer believes very strongly that the present methods of dealing with cancer are barbarous, cruel and completely unnecessary. This opinion does not make him many friends.

Since the discovery of the German New Medicine in 1981, Dr. Hamer has written several books on his medicine and his extraordinary findings. Some of the books have already been translated into several languages, and the work continues. Many physicians in Europe covertly practise his medicine, recognizing its exceptional diagnostic capability. (continue reading)

Ilsedora Laker, the first Canadian German New Medicine educator and consultant authorized by Dr. Hamer, resides in Toronto, Canada, where she pioneered the introduction of the German New Medicine, and continues to train medical and lay specialists in its practice throughout North America. Ilsedora is also instrumental in introducing Dr. Hamer’s work to South America, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, China, Taiwan and Japan.

Ilsedora discovered the work of Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer in 1992 through a colleague at Herbs and Health Holistic Centre in Toronto. Subsequent investigation of the work of Dr. Hamer and application of his research to her clinical cases proved to Ilsedora over and over again that Dr. Hamer’s findings are accurate.

In 1994 Ilsedora met a highly renowned protégé of Dr. Hamer, and invited him to conduct the first New Medicine seminar in North America. Her New Medicine studies (as Dr. Hamer’s research was then called) continued under his protege’s supervision until 1997 when she inaugurated her series of New Medicine seminars.

In 1998, Ilsedora was introduced to Dr. Hamer and, at his request, sponsored his first seminar in Canada. After this event, she became his student and shortly thereafter was entrusted by him with overseeing the translation of his thesis “The Summary of the New Medicine” first published in German in 1994, in English in 2000, which is now available through her office and her web site.

As Ms. Laker uses the term psychic, she and Dr. Hammer are referring to who we are, Soul

The pathway for disease is Soul- Brain – Organ

Hamer’s research shows the brain  puts the stress on an organ from a survival viewpoint more than the weakest organ as may suggest

A shock, an un-expectant  trauma may just be the starting point for all disease

The “belief” one may adopt when given a diagnosis plays a key role in how the body will heal

Soul’s reaction to this un-expectant shock plays an essential role in the whole process of disease.

Soul has three levels of awareness:  conscious, sub conscious and un conscious

Most often when the shock/trauma is dealt with, the lessons learned etc. the “disease” process kicks in

Dr. Hamer received information from his son, who translated from a shooting, on how this all works

Isadora explains some very interesting aspects of they thyroid “epidemic” going on and why this gland does what it does

Some of the emails asked and responded to:

I was left in a tree house by my 5 year old sister when I was only 2 and we have no idea how long I was up there before my mother noticed. I’m 66 and have MS issues in my legs and have had some MS issues since I was in my early 20’s with optic neuritis. Knowing this was probably the shock that set me up, How on earth to I get beyond it?

Please ask if Iodine makes the thyroid less active … I take Nature Thyroid 2 grain… and I had a radioactive iodine pill to kill thyroid as I was hyper.

are the emotions stored in the organs?

So per New German Medicine, a shocking unexpected traumatic event in life can manifest as a physical illness.  Does such an event always result in illness?  What is needed to resolve the issue, perhaps daily meditation or the prayer that asks to have the strength to change what you can and the ability to accept what you can’t change, and the wisdom to learn the difference?

A similar trauma to an earlier trauma can also flare up an illness condition; is this true if the original trauma is not remembered or even if it occurred in our ancestors?

Does this work in reverse?  If we experience an unexpected joyful event, will similar occurrences spark happy feelings even when we don’t recognize the source?

Please ask your guest what are the emotional traumas, if any, on the development of neurodegenerative disease (multiple sclerosis).

I had a head CT scan without and with contrast taken 10 years ago. Would it be worthwhile to have someone interpret it for signs of brain foci (HH), and could you recommend someone who could do the interpretation?

How does this play into working with, for example, child abuse?

Is German New Medicine similar in any way to The Emotion Code, EFT or Recall Healing

How does German New Medicine explain congenital diseases? For instance, my thyroid never descended properly during fetal development and the thyroid tissue become a thyroglossal duct cyst in my upper throat when I was a baby.

I am disappointed in how this interview was “led”. Being a student and proponent of GNM for nearly 10 years I am aware that several errors on the part of the host have been communicated to the audience.
Example: Ilsedora does not use the term psychic – but rather the term is psyche – quite different in meaning and misleading. Psyche is another word for the place where your thoughts come from and psychic is having a special mental ability.
The sentence posted by the host: “Dr. Hamer received information from his son, who translated from a shooting, on how this all works” is a really bad summation of what was actually said in the interview – it does not makes sense to say “translated from a shooting” and this is not an accurate description of the events as they were communicated by Ilsedora.
I get the impression the host had an agenda and was/is determined on communicating that to the audience – with snide comments here and there in order to make his opinion known without being direct or blatantly rude.
From my personal GNM learning and understanding I have the impression the host was not sufficiently versed in the subject matter to do the topic justice – a great pity – it is too prevalent that important information gets incorrectly relayed to the public through media platforms such as this radio show.

    Megan,
Point well taken on the difference from psychic and psyche, simply used the wrong word and understand the difference. Our thoughts, original thoughts, originate from Soul. Dr. Hamer and others use the term Psyche, just another word for Soul. Just a made up word.
Thoughts generated with full awareness from Soul is one thing and Souls gobbing on to mind swirling is not thinking.

As to translated. Yes, we don’t die, Soul is eternal. I said when his son translated after being shot, which is an accurate way of saying the process of Soul leaving the body. Of course died is the term most use. I don’t.

Yes, as host I do have an agenda. And that agenda is fleshing out in the most comfortable way what each guest has to offer to make an interesting, entertaining conversation. That’s what I do. And, I think the topic of GNM was covered very nicely and I know that any Soul who knew nothing of this work, after two hours has a real basic understanding of Hamer’s work.
Without Patrick guiding these talks…who knows where they would go. This is my job, my agenda.
As for snide comments, I have fun and don’t take things too seriously, if you call that snide, so be it.

Iisadora told me she had a great time and was anxious to share the show with her followers.

I encourage you not to be so hard on yourself.

Hi Patrick- It was really great when I got to learn that you were going to invite Ilsedora to talk about Dr Hamer’s work. However it was not so great to see how you overlaid your own understanding on top of this accurate and precise body of knowledge that Dr Hamer developed. The link you shared in your mail when announcing the interview -which pretended to expand on GNM concepts-was a mixed bag of notions that you selected to share and not pure GNM. Some of the pointings above are also an uncalled for bastardization of what Ilsedora expressed on the show.
Again while I applaud the initiative to bring this content to your audience I also have to express my disappointment in the way you over imposed your notions and interpretations onto this piece.

Ilsadora had complete freedom for two hours to say whatever she wanted to say and could and can (here), if she wishes, counter some my awareness of how this all works.

My understanding of the Soul/Mind/Body paradigm does not come from a book or “research” of any kind. What I share is what I have seen, actually seen from Soul perspective on the physical, astral, causal and Mental Plane of reality. So, what you call an “uncalled bastardization” of what Ms. Laker expressed is simply my knowledge, put in my words to assist Souls in finding their Truth.
I trust this show will help you and others look deeply within and see for yourself how this works, and use GNM as a guidepost in the process and see for yourself if it is True.

For me, Hamer’s and now Ms. Laker’s work is the closest I’ve “heard and read” with Truth.

You are your own genius, when you look and see how It all works.
If you are attached to someone else’s view and research then you are being led, when our job as Soul is to lead. All of us.

We are a law unto our selves. I encourage you not to turn NGM into a “religion” .

        Hi Patrick,

My research assistant has alerted me to the comments from some of your listeners in regard to my interview.
It seems you’re getting some flack from students of the GNM.
I do agree with Claudia that the article you posted on “Psycho-Oncology” is a highly inadequate description of what the GNM is all about. It certainly does not do justice to the subject, and Megan had valid points in regard to the terminology you used to promote the interview.
I would have much preferred if you had posted one of my 36 blogs on various GNM topics rather than that article. I do hope that your listeners will instead explore my blogs. https://www.gnmonlineseminars.com/ilsedoras-blog/
A show such is yours is a nice platform to introduce the subject but as Dr. Hamer always said “the devil sits in the details” and I sincerely hope that your listeners will look at the GNM more seriously for those details.
I found your comment to Claudia regarding “turning the GNM into a religion” very interesting because comments made to me from other listeners indicated that they felt that’s what you were trying to do. I fully appreciate that the GNM may have helped to solidify your own spiritual convictions.
Those of us drawn to the GNM all feel that there is a soul connection, but we can’t prove it scientifically “as yet”. These are personal spiritual convictions. What we can prove are the Five Biological Laws which together have formed a new natural science as concrete as mathematics, biology and physics. That is precisely what makes Dr. Hamer’s findings so extraordinary especially in the medical field which is based on thousands of hypotheses.
It’s my opinion that religion is about belief, not fact, whereas the GNM is strictly based on fact so we must be careful not to put our “spiritual beliefs before fact” because that poses a danger to natural science.
Thank you for having me on the show I always appreciate being able to speak to and with open minded people.
        Sincerely, Ilsedora

    Ms. Laker,
Glad you stopped in to comment, hoping you would..and will any time. Thanks for link to your blogs and folks of course can dig in as much as they like.
Actually, my spiritual convictions, as yo call them, are real experiences and are based on looking and seeing on this and other realities and have nothing to do with mind or “beliefs’ and science as you say, will never get there because it is a different state of consciousness. A different language, a different reality than physical and to the scientists, if they can’t see it, feel it, measure it in the physical than it either doesn’t exist or is in the “maybe” category. Valuable, but just a piece of the pie.
This is more than a Soul connection, as you write, Ilsadora it is Soul, me. looking and seeing exactly how it works. We are Soul, and if one needs proof, it is up to each individual Soul to find out for itself. Or not…and keep doing the same stuff lifetime after lifetime.
Most religions are based on belief. Spiritual growth is based on reality, fact. I am here to encourage all Souls to look and see for themselves, internally and they can see how it all works, without machines, x rays, science etc. Then they “know” and not just believe. The GNM folks who have written me are all upset because they intuitively know Hamer’s work is on to something sacred, how it works. And if someone varies from that just a little, they get upset. And they are upset, because I know this stuff through experience and years of study. This upsets their applecart of reality. So, I’ll stand by my conjecture that most science has turned into a religion. Matter of fact, science is now pushing back, as you know they did with Dr. Hammer, in all kinds of ways to people who question them or get results differently.

Religion and science likes to be dogmatic. And as soon as you enter into Truth, what is…and know that we are Soul, not the mind, not the body, not the emotions and are creating every single thread of these bodies every moment, science gets upset Truth is a living, dynamic, ever changing reality for there’s only now. And, then every paper, ever experiment is only good at that moment, and everything is subject to change.
    You’re doing important work

Well said. Soul is driving the show, with Spirit as the fuel. It is as simple as that. And, after speaking with Ms.Laker, I have had experiences, that are above the mind, looking more closely and even small traumas, tensions etc. that have a physiological effect….and relaxing into the “pain” or “tight spots” if you will..releases them.

I simply see no evidence that one has to “go through” “relive” whatever the trauma to let it go.

I will say, they are many cases whereby we are using the “disease” to look at the reason how we created the trauma as a lesson learned, not to do it again. AKA, spiritual growth.

What a loss of time, this interview… Those who understand Dr. Ray Peat’s explanations on the physiological processes in the body – especially while under catabolic STRESS (=CORTISOL regulated) conditions -, and those who are familiar with the work of Dr. Joseph Dispenza (“You are the Placebo”, “Becoming Superhuman”), cannot be but disappointed by this huge load of unstructured “bla-bla” (not to call it otherwise)…
To bring it down to the most essential: Not only the ENVIRONMENT, but also your AWARENESS & SUBJECTIVE INTERPRETATION of what you experience, trigger the production of hormones and neurotransmitters, which in turn either break down or strengthen up your material body. The same event can have totally opposite effects on different people, depending on their (conscious and/or subconscious) “pre-programming”. If we weaken our body with uncontrolled devastating thoughts and feelings, we become an easy prey for…. you’ve guessed it: PARASITES. Sooner or later they’ll take over the body and decompost it – but until then, how about keeping them at bay, by eliminating as many internal and external STRESSORS as much as possible?
Divorce, losing the job, or even the house, can be both: A BLESSING in disguise, or a reason to “check-out” – depending on WHO you “think” you are (which, BTW, has n o t h i n g to do with who you REALLY are – or could still become!)
Hier in Germany, we have a pragmatic saying:
“Don’t make things worse by adding your personal oppinion (which nobody is interested in, especially if’ it’s depressing, or does not serve to changing things for the better) to the “facts” (which don’t count a n y w a y, because you can
    a l w a y s create “new facts” with your thinking and actions”).
We need to learn how to positively influence the biochemical reactions in our cells by radically questioning everything we are allowing to AFFECT us… Yes, you need to grow a very thick skin… And, yes, this is a life-time endevour which requires a lot of knowledge and radical self-discipline.
Only the smartest will thrive… But isn’t this the o n l y GENE-SELECTION principle in this complex “Brave New World”?
