Boy Misfit Adano Ley

Adano Ley was an altar boy in the local Catholic Church in British Guiana (Guyana since 1966).

He aspired to the priesthood, but asked his priest “the unpardonable question” — “How come you preach of Jesus and don’t seem to be able to bring that life into manifestation?”

“Boy, you don’t be a priest. You are too much of a mystic,” replied his mentor.

Adano went home and reported to his father, “Dad, the priest says I can’t become a priest in the Church because I’m a misfit.”

“Well, then be a Buddhist,” replied Benjamin, his father.

Adano’s father was an atheist.

According to Adano (years later) …

“The atheist is a Jnani yogi. The theist is complacent. He doesn’t think about God because he believes in his existence. The atheist is always thinking about God because he’s trying to prove he doesn’t exist.”

<>

Adano eventually left the Church to seek his own heritage.

Before leaving, his mentor and priest showed Adano his private study and library.

The priest pointed to one section of books: “These books are for the priests.”

He pointed to a separate section: “These are for the mystics like you.”

<>

Adano studied the books in the priest’s private collection.

There were books on Theosophy and reincarnation not countenanced by the official Church.

I’m up to Chapter 150 (James Ellroy-length chapters) on my e-book about Mesmerism and mind over matter.
