The human body is exceptionally resourceful.

Not only does our body digest, assimilate, warehouse, and utilize inorganic (no carbon involved) minerals, but it can RECYCLE them too, using them twice or thrice.

The body itself supplies the carbonaceous and nitrogenous molecules to accomplish this.

Our cells use carbon to store water, including salt water.

Much of our sodium chloride would be wasted if it weren’t for our carbonaceous matrix.

The calcium in hard water (water with limestone dissolved in it) is readily absorbed.

Ditto the magnesium in hard water.

Magnesium can also be easily absorbed through the skin (according to the University of Maryland Medical Center and other sources too numerous to mention).

Calcium or magnesium in non-carbonate inorganic form would over-alkalize us if it weren’t for our body’s low-pH carbon dioxide coming to the rescue.

ALL VITAMINS CONTAIN CARBON … even the genetically-engineered vitamins synthesized by “life science” transnational monoliths like Hoffman La Roche (Switzerland), BASF (Germany), Aventis SA (France), Solray Pharmaceuticals (Netherlands), Merck (Germany), Daiichi Pharmaceuticals (Japan), Esai Company (Japan), Takada Chemical Industries (Japan), etc. [1] [2] [3]

One way to get extra calcium is to hold Coca-Cola in our mouth to dissolve our teeth. (I don’t recommend it.)

Orange juice or lemonade dissolves the calcium and other minerals out of our teeth considerably quicker, taking weeks instead of months.

So it’s not our highest choice to retain carbon dioxide in our mouth. Anyone feel a yawn coming on?

Spring water contains abundant macro-minerals and trace minerals.

Spring water is also notoriously radioactive (mostly from radium), especially when it ascends from bedrock or older rock.

Radium is commonly found in spring water, and less than a hundred years ago people drank it and bathed in it to absorb the radioactivity.

Ocean water is slightly radioactive too, 17 times more so in July, according to one researcher (A.J. Eve, 1909, North Atlantic Ocean).

Cooking in a cast-iron pot is one way to supplement with iron. It’s not our highest choice.

Copper from copper pipes is a way to supplement with copper. It’s also not our highest choice.

Amino acid chelates, amino acid-peptide combinations, orotates, aspartates, gluconates, picolinates, citrates, ascorbates, etc., are supposed to make minerals more bio-available.

The truth is our stomach and small intestines are perfectly capable of chelating and complexing most minerals without any help from industrial chemists.

Non-food-based minerals are often more bio-available, BUT THEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM.

Maybe there’s a reason our body sloughs off most of the minerals we shove in our mouth.

Maybe Mother Nature is smarter than industrial eggheads.

No one questions the fact that enhanced mineral absorption may be poisoning the body.

ONE MAN’S MINERAL DEFICIENCY IS ANOTHER MAN’S MINERAL EXCESS.

So what’s the advantage of obtaining our minerals from food and herbs?

    There IS one kind of “bad” cholesterol, and it’s not LDL or HDL.

    It’s oxidized cholesterol.

    If you don’t change your oil regularly, cholesterol oxidizes and lipids go rancid.

    Dandruff is an example of a rancid oil.

      Yes, Brendan, another 25% “fortify” and “enrich” food, a racket that started as far back as 1933. :)

      30% + 25% = 55%.

        Hi Atom,

        Perhaps some of the remaining is for livestock and vegetables through feed and fert?

        Do you know what carbonic acid “smells like”? I have experienced a certain smell here and there through the years; one not externally attributable. It is only today that I am realizing that I am able to reproduce it through deep (but not forced or heavy!) breathing, but particularly upon exhalation. It is a highly unique odor, one that I can recall experiencing many years back.

        Also it seems to me that breathing through the skin is first awakened via shivering of the nervous system. Initially deep breathing seems “forced” and is only experienced superficially – the stomach and chest are sucked in and pushed out like a tube of toothpaste blocked by the twist cap on top. I guess it would only make sense that as the nerves are “remembered”, the obedience of the cells to breath are awakened as well, and this shivering blocked toothpaste tube action ceases. One can see why guidance is needed so that one does not go nuts with incorrectly forced breathing.

          (1) Yes, Brendan, 35-40% of the global vitamin supply goes down the throats of animals with single stomachs.

          Animals with multiple stomachs (like cattle) usually don’t need supplementation.

          Animals get “animal-grade” vitamins. They contain more impurities.

          So where do you think the remaining 5-10% goes?

          (2) Perhaps it’s a time-lapse delivery lag of carbonic anhydrase?

          Carbon anhydrase is involved in the production of hydrochloric acid (among other things).

          Zinc may be involved. “They” say we can’t yawn without it.

          (3) GREAT observations on shivering and breathing! Thanks for sharing. :)

          Shivering IS definitely involved … and GOOSEBUMPS too.

    I was wondering why every year when my fiancé and I gather black walnuts in the fall I get acne from them? I eat two a day(in the morning) and have even tried soaking them for 24 hours prior to eating them. Any thoughts or suggestions?

      Ironically, black walnuts are often recommended as a remedy for acne!

      The acne might be toxins releasing through the skin from the intestines, BUT …

      Black walnuts contain a potent compound called juglone, and you might be sensitive to it.

      Maybe you should avoid them until you know for sure.

    funny you mention radium, i just stumbled upon your melanin-eggplant connection and they seem to boost mine a lot. i feel the remaining iffyness i had from a cranial x-ray dissipate. can melanin handle radiation retroactively?

    and please won’t you drop the prices on butterflies need no taxidermist? i know if i buy volume 1 i’ll just buy the rest too. can’t get enough swami nitty gritty! or atomb.

      (1) Eat a time-relevant oil at every meal (usually at least 3 times a day).

      It takes an oil to move an oil.

      (2) I don’t take MegaHydrin or Crystal Energy, so it would be unfair to comment.

      (3) Both H2 and O2 are essential to existence, let alone life. :)

    Ironically, the vitamin biotech industry itself needs vitamins to fuel the vitamin-making process, so 5-10% is sold back to other vitamin processors to produce more biotech vitamins!

    How’s that for a circular process?

    I love how the only thing you proved is that a study showed we can absorb magnesium through the skin, in fact it is a preferable way to get it.

    But the rest of your article is hogwash, nothing proven just a bunch of conjecture without any facts or studies to back it up.

    Based on what you say I should be able to lick the copper pipes in my home to get coffee and my body can assimilate it and we know this is not true.
