The U.S. was a worldwide military power before the Civil War and a worldwide maritime power while it was still a colony.

There was no Era of Isolationism (“No Entangling Alliances”) except in the hopes of Thomas Paine and in the foot-in-the-mouth of Thomas Jefferson.

Walter Russell Mead (Special Providence: American Foreign Policy and How It Changed the World, 2002) wrote …

“The U.S. Marines had already ventured ‘from the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli’ by the Civil War. The Marine Hymn could in fact have said more; by 1860 the Marines had already been far to the west and south of Mexico as well as to the east and north of Libya. Jefferson’s dispatch to Tripoli and Algiers of a punitive mission against the Barbary pirates was the first but by no means the last such expedition sent out by American presidents. The village of Quallah Battoo on the coast of Sumatra was shelled and burned by an American force sent by Jackson; the visit was repeated when the inhabitants continued obdurate in their disrespect for the flag. In 1843 American marines fought with villagers in coastal Liberia after Comm. Matthew Perry was attacked; the marines returned to Liberia in 1860 to protect American lives and property.

“In 1843 American marines landed in Ghongzhou (Canton) to protect Americans from Chinese mobs. They returned thirteen years later and defeated five thousand Chinese troops in a pitched battle. A permanent marine presence would guard American traders and diplomats in China and participate – under foreign commanders – with European forces in the suppression of the Boxer Rebellion in 1900.”

U.S. globalism and “imperial overstretch” started with the “Virginia Dynasty” even before the Monroe Doctrine.

The cyanotoxins in blue-green algae have been strongly linked to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

    Cyanotoxins include …

    1) anatoxin-a (Very Fast Death Factor)

    2) anatoxin-as

    3) aplysiatoxin

    4) cylindrospermopsin (CYL)

    5) domoic acid (DA)

    6) microcystin-LR

    7) nodularin-R

    8) neosaxitoxin (NSTX)

    9) saxitoxin (STX)

Ironically, another algae, Spirulina, is being used to treat ALS at the University of South Florida.

Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) are linked to ALS.

    Ditto glutamate and Aspartame.

Exposure to agricultural chemicals, including those used in gardening and lawn care, is linked to ALS.

Half of the 15,000,000 dead because of World War I died from infections from their wounds.

The infections came from battles fought on agricultural land.

Almost no one died from infections during the Boer War.

The Boer War was not fought on agricultural land.

Farms were contributing to the bacterial arms race before antibiotics were introduced to compound the problem.

According to “Blue-green algae tested for treating ALS,” Dec 21, 2010, phys.org/news …

“Nutritional supplementation with Spirulina, a nutrient-rich, blue-green algae, appeared to provide neuroprotective support for dying motor neurons in a mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, University of South Florida neuroscientists have found. Although more research is needed, they suggest that a spirulina-supplemented diet may provide clinical benefits for ALS patients.

“A spirulina dietary supplement was shown to delay the onset of motor symptoms and disease progression, reducing inflammatory markers and motor neuron death in a G93A mouse model of ALS. Spirulina, an ancient food source used by the Aztecs, may have a dual antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect on motor neurons, the researchers said.

Their study is published in the current issue of The Open Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Journal (3:36-41).

“‘ALS is a degenerative motor neuron disease,’ said the study’s lead author, Svitlana Garbuzova-Davis, PhD, DSc, assistant professor in the Department of Neurosurgery and Brain Repair at USF. ‘Most available treatments relieve symptoms without altering the underlying disease. However, evidence for oxidative stress has been associated with ALS and, in our past studies, we demonstrated potent decreases in markers of oxidative damage and inflammation in aged rats fed diets supplemented with spirulina or spinach. In this initial study, the diet supplement was fed only to pre-symptomatic mice. Further studies showing the diet supplement’s effect on the lifespan of symptomatic ALS mice are needed to prove the treatment’s effectiveness.'”
Spirulina is most effective when its in the form of unprocessed raw powder (from a reputable company, of course).

My profession (Sun Sync Nutrition) involves circadian rhythms, so, for more “bang for my buck,” whenever I use it, I eat a small amount with my dinner after 6:30 p.m.

It seems to work better for people with health issues to eat two servings …

    1) between 3:00-5:00 p.m. (during the liver’s maximum biliary flow time)

    2) between 7:00-9:00 p.m. (a secondary timing “shunt” to the liver)

    Timing is Everything.

Be careful with salt when exposed to radiation.

Otherwise, salt can stop the growth of cancer.

But, once a person has cancer, salt can metastasize it.
