Fertile Soil For Fake News
Re: Facebook and Google Crack Down on Fake News Advertising.
“Legitimate news” — CNN, FOX, BBC, The New York Times — is by far the worst offender.
Fake News and False Flags are par for the course.
Edward Bernays (1891-1995) is the Father of Fake News.
(Why do these New World Order types live so long?)
Bernays was a nephew of Sigmund Freud who was hip to how vulnerable the human beings are to “spin.”
Philip Wylie (Generation of Vipers, 1942, 1955, 1979) wrote …
“The exalted common man is a slave of instinct, slave of the herd, slave of superstition, slave of magical gadgets, the embodiment of evil, and the testing ground of every mass folly the devil can invent. He is the organ of the accumulated smut and sneakery of ten thousand generations of weaseling souls, the spirit of unleavened earth, the genetic end-product of a long run of inferior and infernal adaptations, the survivor of all known forms of needless stupidity, bestiality, and knavery. His power to rise up and repeat his pattern endlessly is immense and it has been, so far, nearly futile. His most colossal achievement is his ability, in spite of the doltish millennia out of which he has grown like a fungus, to keep producing specimens of men who give the whole breed a possibly exaggerated cast of hopefulness.”
The Common Man makes the job of spin doctors like Bernays as easy as taking candy from a baby.
According to George Carlin …
“Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from?
“They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality.
“They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses, and American universities, and they’re elected by American citizens.
“This is the best we can do, folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces — garbage in and garbage out.”
The Common Man makes the job of spin doctors like Bernays as easy as ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and FOX News.
Bernays’ clients included Calvin Coolidge, Proctor & Gamble, American Tobacco, CBS, General Electric, and Dodge Motors.
He wrote books such as …
Crystallizing Public Opinion, 1923
A Public Relations Counsel, 1927
This Business of Propaganda, 1928
Public Relations, 1945
The Engineering of Consent, 1955
Your Future in Public Relations, 1961
Biography of an Idea: Memoirs of Public Relations Counsel, 1965
The United Fruit Company was one of Bernays’ clients.
He was hired to ensure that Guatemala remained a “banana republic.”
Kor Gable (Cosmic Xing: Shamanizing Our World Towards Light and Love, 2010) wrote …
“Bernays went to Guatemala with a bunch of journalists and had them report that [Jacobo] Arbenz was a Communist puppet of the USSR. Bernays organized a violent anti-American demonstration in the Capital and manufactured ‘proofs’ for the media to conveniently find as evidence that the Arbenz regime was Communist. He also created a fake news agency in America called the Middle American Information Bureau, through which he bombarded the media with press releases that Moscow was planning to use Guatemala as a beachhead to attack America.
“Eisenhower, in collusion with Bernays, conceived a covert plot to overthrow Arbenz, using the CIA to organize the coup. The CIA then trained a rebel army, headed by Howard Hunt (later one of the Watergate burglars). Next, CIA planes flew in and bombed Guatemala City. Then the CIA rebel army went in posing as ‘freedom fighters’ to ‘liberate’ the Guatemalan people from Communist rule. After the coup, the media went in and found communist documents all over the place (planted by Bernays).”
