Re: Why does rice fit all 3 time zones?

Plant SPECIES have much in common with INDIVIDUAL human “larks” and “owls.”

Larks are “early birds.” “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

Owls are “night owls,” feeling their best during “mushroom hours.”

Larks are generally healthier than owls, unless their wake-sleep cycle is changed or interrupted.

Owls are more “time labile” (time flexible) – so much so that NASA prefers owls for astronauts.

All plant species vary in time tolerance, as well as some plant varieties within a species, e.g., semolina wheat is more time-tolerant than other wheat varieties, and can be eaten at midday or evening.

Plants suffer from jet lag too, even fruits and vegetables that have been separated from the soil, requiring about one day per time zone to readjust to a new local mean time.

Fluorescent lighting interferes with the circadian rhythms of fruits and vegetables too, dramatically affecting their flavor and nutrient content.

Plant DNA and RNA determines time flexibility, and some plants are more epigenetic than others.

Scientists are experimenting with the platinization of DNA bases with complexes activated by visible light to mutate plant genes in fruits and vegetables AFTER HARVESTING THEM.

Plants are generally more time labile the closer they grow to the equator.

    This includes animals.

There’s no need for a pineal gland in the tropics.

In contrast, a baby elephant seal’s head is ALMOST ALL PINEAL GLAND.:)
