Infrared Radiation By the Numbers

Re: There seems to be considerable points of contradiction with respect to infrared therapy.

Not surprising, since the infrared (redder than red) spectrum is wider than the color and ultraviolet spectra.

The ultraviolet (more violet than violet) spectrum is 390 nanometers across.

The color spectrum is 300 nanometers.

The infrared spectrum is 999,300 nanometers.

The near-infrared (NIR) spectrum by itself is 1,800 nanometers.

The mid-infrared (MIR) spectrum is 2,500 nanometers.

The far-infrared (FIR) spectrum is 995,000 nanometers.

The last three spectra are approximations since “experts” disagree where one category leaves off and another one begins.

Red visible light seems to be more healing than the infrared invisible spectrum, especially around 670 nanometers (basically the frequency of the commonest type of red laser pointer pen, which should NOT be used for therapy without knowledge of the hazards involved).

Mice have been cured of laboratory-induced blindness with 690-nanometer red light.

NIR radiation of various frequencies has been used to eliminate skin wrinkles with some success.

Red and NIR wavelengths protect plants from getting sunburned and definitely accelerate WOUND HEALING by resonating with mitochondria and other organelles, according to many “experts.”

<>

Red and infrared are important constituents of Earth’s “radiation budget.”

A typical red chicken brooding light radiates EM wavelengths between 550-3,500 nanometers, mostly 700-1,100.

Natural infrared light from sunlight is almost exclusively NIR, and is especially abundant in the vicinity of chlorophyll-rich trees.

Satellites monitor chlorophyll in corporate crops with NIR spectroscopy on an ongoing basis.

<>

Natural red and infrared radiation from sunlight is especially therapeutic at sunrise and sunlight, the Time of the Green Shadows, when most of the blue and violet light has been filtered out.

The green shadows and the occasional “green flash” of the setting Sun predominate over the color blue, which is scattered out of the line of sight.

I’ve instinctively sought out the healing power of the setting Sun’s rays, even before Swami Nitty-Gritty endorsed them in 1976 and before I was a lens polisher at Infrared Industries.

Blue light is critically important to set the circadian clock, but too much of a good thing is not our highest choice.

My knowledge of FIR “black body radiation” almost exclusively revolves around pheromones.

Human pheromones are emitted and received between 7,500-14,000 nanometers, the pheromone-detecting range of the nose.

Pheromones are also emitted and received between 15,000-26,000 nanometers.

A female cabbage looper moth emits the same FIR frequency as a candle flame (17,000 nanometers), dooming many a male cabbage looper moth to sex hot enough to turn him into a flaming fireball.

Be careful what you drag into an FIR sauna — you might fall “in love” with it.

Samuel Pierpont Langley (The New Astronomy, 1889) wrote …

“Did the reader ever consider that next to the mystery of gravitation, which draws all things on the earth’s surface down, comes that mystery — not seen to be one because so familiar — of the occult force in the sunbeams which lifts things up? The incomprehensible energy of the sunbeam brought the carbon out of the air, put it together in the weed or the plant, and lifted each tree-trunk above the soil. The soil did not lift it, any more than the soil in Broadway lifted the spire of Trinity. Men brought stones there in wagons to build the church, and the sun brought the materials in its own way, and built up alike the slender shaft that sustains the grass blade and the column of the pine. If the tree or the spire fell, it would require a certain amount of work of men or horses or engines to set it up again. So much actual work, at least, the sun did in the original building; and if we consider the number of trees in the forest, we see that this alone is something great. But besides this, the sun locked up in each tree a store of energy thousands of times greater than that which was spent in merely lifting the trunk from the ground as we may see by unlocking it again, when we burn the tree under the boiler of an engine; for it will develop a power equal to the lifting of thousands of its kind, if we choose to employ it in this way. This is so true, that the tree may fall, and turn to coal in the soil, and still keep this energy imprisoned in it, — keep it for millions of years, till the black lump under the furnace gives out, in the whirling spindles of the factory or the turning wheel of the steamboat, the energy gathered in the sunshine of the primeval world.”

Ive been trying to dicipher this and have failed so far, any hints…..

“Therefore Moses saw and saw not. He saw, that he might be exalted; he saw not, that he might not be injured. For by that which he saw, his lowliness was exalted; and by that which he saw not, his weakness was not blinded. As also our eyes look upon the sun and look not upon it; and by what they see are assisted; and by what they see not, are uninjured.” — Saint Gregory the Dialogist

Swami Nitty-Gritty said, “The moment light appears, time takes over.”

He also said, “Darkness is the savings account. Light is the checking account. Darkness is the reserve reservoir of all potential forces in a state of suspension. Before the spark of the bullet, a click must be heard. Talking to oneself triggers off energy.”

Are you familiar with Marshall McLuhan?

Visual cultures lead to privatization and individualism, while oral/auditory/tactile ones are involving and “happening.”

“The initiate path is slower, but its permanent. The psychic path is faster, but it doesn’t last. An initiate will not impose on your brain individuality. A psychic climbs through your window to borrow your dishes.” — Swami Nitty-Gritty

Bezoars are not confined to the intestines.

Georgina England, et al (“Forensic Features of Pharmacobezoars,” Journal of Forensic Sciences, Dec. 2015) wrote …

“Three cases of pharmacobezoars are reported to demonstrate typical autopsy findings and potential lethal mechanisms: (i) A 32-year-old woman died following an overdose of prescription medications. A gelatinous pharmacobezoar was found forming a cast of her bronchial tree. (ii) A 24-year-old woman also died following an overdose of prescription medications. At autopsy, two pharmacobezoars were present, one within the larynx and another occluding the right main bronchus. Deaths in both cases were attributed to airway occlusion by pharmacobezoars complicating mixed drug toxicity. (iii) A 79-year-old man was found dead in a car. Death was attributed to the combined effects of carbon monoxide and drug toxicity with a large pharmacobezoar lodged within the esophagus. Pharmacobezoars are specific types of bezoars that occur when pharmaceutical materials, such as tablets, suspensions, and/or drug delivery devices, aggregate and contribute to death by occluding airways with tenacious material or by eluting drugs.”

Kidney Time (5:00-7:00 p.m.) is ideal.

The kidney and ear are shells — resonators of sound (both inside and outside of the body).
