I ask, “WHO’S the matter with you?”

Then I ask, “WHEN’S the matter with you?”

Finally – and least important – I ask, “WHAT’S the matter with you?”

“Disease is nothing but disturbed ease. Ask yourself, ‘What did I do to disturb my ease?’ […] There’s no greater power than your own mind. Everything that happens in the world is because of the mind,” observed Swami Satchidananda at a 1990 lecture in San Diego.

Then Swamiji told the story of a plumber who Roto-Rooted his own heart with his mind to get well.

Illness occurs when mind kidnaps physiology (health) and immunity (divinity).

My Sufi teacher Adnan Sarhan warned, “If you don’t guard your intellect against your intellect, you will be destroyed by the intellect.”

In the words of …

Cindy L. Brunley, R.N., “Herbs and the Postoperative Patient, AORN Journal, Nov. 2000, “Most health professionals view homeopathy as relying on the placebo effect to produce results. The placebo effect occurs 30% to 50% of the time.”

Kevin Trudeau, Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You to Know About, Updated Edition, 2004, “Doctor Leonard Coldwell of Germany has the highest cancer success rate in the country, treating over 35,000 mostly terminal cancer patients. Without drugs or surgery, but rather by using techniques to reduce stress, (in effect correcting a person’s thoughts), he has cured more people of cancer than any person in German history.”

Note: My concurrence with Dr. Coldwell is mostly confined to his statement, “THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE ANSWER TO YOUR INDIVIDUAL CANCER.”

Based on medical studies by the U.S. military before and during World War II, the Menninger brothers (Karl and William) labeled at least 66% of all ORGANIC diseases as psychogenic.

(Last time I checked, the conservative AMA listed the placebo effect as 33%.)

I’m past the top end of the Menninger paradigm, giving placebo a 99% prevalence – as Swami Nitty-Gritty (Adano Ley) maintained and as the hands-on use of my Muscle Stress Detection (BaroSomatic Body Language) continually VALIDATES.

In the words of …

Sai Baba, quoted by Samuel H. Sandweiss, M.D., Sai Baba: The Holy Man … and the Psychiatrist, 1975, “You as body, mind, and soul are a dream, but what you really are is Existence, Knowledge, Bliss. You are the GOD of this universe. You are creating the whole universe and drawing it in. To gain the infinite universal individuality the miserable little prison individuality must go. Bhakti is no crying or any negative condition. It is seeing of all in all we see.”

Shri Shivapuri Baba, quoted by Renu Lal Singh, Right Life: Teachings of the Shivapuri Baba, 1975, 1984, “Misconception is Maya. Actually there is no suffering. Instead of saying, ‘All this is God’ it is better to say, ‘All this is Maya, God’s power.'”

Paramahansa Yogananda, The Divine Romance, 1986, “Two people are separately dreaming they are in a hospital. One is cured, and the other remains sick. The first thinks, ‘Oh, how happy I am! How well I feel!” The other thinks, ‘I feel so sick; how miserable I am.’ But when they awaken from their dreams, both realize that they were neither ill nor healed. In reality there is no disease or ill health at all. Delusion causes these experiences. As soon as you realize that everything is the condensed thought of God, the condensed dream of God, then you don’t mind this play of His. You have awakened from that dream of duality, that dream of sickness or health.”

Note: Yogananda was very specific. He wrote, “delusion,” NOT “illusion.”
