Yikes! The entire dynamic – including its varying functions according to hierarchical levels — is above my pay grade!

Fortunately, it wasn’t above Dr. Emanuel Revici’s pay grade, and, thanks to That Crazy Pharmacist (Steve Mitchell), it’s available in cyberspace to everyone.

Emanuel Revici, M.D. (Research In Physiopathology As Basis For Guided Chemotherapy—With Special Application To Cancer, 1961) wrote …

“Administration of any calcium salt induces a manifest increase in local alkalosis of the second day wound crust pH. It appeared interesting that in bone lesions, especially in bone cancer metastasis, the offbalance type A is characterized by an osteolytic process, the D [catabolic] type by an osteoplastic one. The local acidosis present in lesions with an A [anabolic] type of offbalance explains the mobilization of calcium in these osteolytic processes. Ca [calcium] is deposited in important amounts in metastases with a type D offbalance, a fact which can be related to the local alkalosis resulting from the abnormal metabolism. This alkalosis represents a condition favoring the precipitation of calcium. Indirectly, the deposit of calcium in bone metastases appears to correspond to the D pattern of tissular abnormality. Calcium has a D inducing activity even in this case.

“With calcium excreted in excess through the urine, the problem of calcium pharmacology in the A type of cancer is related to the form in which it acts at the cellular level, which appears quantitatively impaired. As the quantitative decrease must be considered to be a consequence of qualitative insufficiency and not a general quantitative deficiency, the problem is not to provide calcium but to find a way to insure better utilization at the cellular level. It is for this reason that administration of most calcium salts does not influence the evolution of experimental or clinical cancer, but has a preventive effect upon the induction of tumors through carcinogens. Administered after the injection of the carcinogen, calcium appears to reduce the percentage of positive results. Administered after the tumors have appeared, the influence is minimal or nil.”

If Dr. Revici were “talking with a golden retriever,” minerals are more important to maintain health than they are to counteract disease.

By the way, insufficient calcium encourages youthfulness, but the downside is cancer, while excess calcium prevents cancer, but fosters premature aging.

It’s taken me over two decades to get the gist of Dr. Revici’s therapies, but his awesome textbook is the closest thing there is to an All & Everything of comprehensive medical theory.

    The left front quadrant of a car relates to traumas with a male, and the right front quadrant to traumas with a female.

    It reverses at the rear — female traumas are on the left, and male traumas are on the right.

    Adano explained how our physical possessions often act as “shunts” to protect our physical body.

    According to him, it was “more practical” to break something you own than your bones.

    great entry atom! then maybe there is truth to “live fast, d*e young” but not “eternal youth”? i also find it intersting that the supposed water of youth in the (greek?) myth had the effect of forgetfullness, just like the delta brain wave.

    I broke my right knee skiing in January and then had issues with my relationship… I also had a small scuff on my rear left bumper a few years ago! If I repair my car’s bumper will my relationship sort itself out?

      Calcium and magnesium don’t balance each other. They’re colleagues.

      Catabolic magnesium balances anabolic sodium. Both hang out on the Third Compartment of the Periodic Table — the extracellular level.

      Catabolic calcium balances anabolic potassium. Both are on the Fourth Compartment — the cellular level.

      For example, according to Dr. Emanuel Revici …

      “The relationship between Ca [calcium] and K [potassium] has permitted us to be more precise about the role of Ca in cancer pathogenesis. As opposed to K, which increases by as much as 60% in tumors, the content of calcium decreases by 44%.

      “Confronted with K and Ca changes, it appeared interesting to see to which element we could directly attribute the increase in malignancy. In the regeneration of liver cells, where rapid growth without malignancy takes place, potassium is increased while the amount of calcium is unaltered. Similarly in other rapidly growing but normal cells, calcium is not diminished while K is increased. Potassium thus appears to be related to the process of cellular growth and multiplication which represents also an added factor in transforming noninvasive into invasive cancer. However, potassium is not directly related to the cancerous character of the cells. On the other hand, reduced amounts of calcium appear to be peculiar to the cancerous process. The reduced calcium in cancer is not due to a lack of this element in the organism since calcium is not only available but even apparently present in excess at the systemic level. As we have shown, a high urinary calcium index, indicating exaggerated excretion, is present in type A [anabolic] offbalance. The anomaly resides in the low capacity of the cancerous cells to fix and properly utilize calcium. As calcium acts at the surface of the cell and its deficiency reduces cellular adhesiveness, lack of cellular calcium can be seen to increase the invasiveness of cancer cells and the tendency to metastases. Deficiency of calcium in cells appears related to the character of youth while excess seems to result in rapid aging.”

      Magnesium and chlorine (magnesium chloride) are both on the Third Compartment, but magnesium is catabolic and chlorine is anabolic, so they’re also colleagues.

      The same goes for magnesium and sulfur (magnesium sulfate).

    if potassium is associated with cell growth, incl. abonrmal ones. then would high t (testosterone retains potassium) be unadvisable in general? a lot of health tips these days are about boosting t. but i find even a lot of kelp accelerates hair loss for me. on the other hand, flax, which supposedy via lignans binds to a lot of hormone receptor sites and flushes them out, seems to promote my general balance and health. i’m a young one so perhaps my hormones are still on the high side rather than low already?

      As far as I know, potassium is only a problem when calcium is depleted at the cellular level.

      Alkalinity and fatty acids (which cause more alkalinity) prevent the growth of cancer, while acidity and sterols prevent the metastasis of cancer.

      Cholesterol has the capacity to combine with fatty acids, perhaps to limit their damaging effects, presumably for our benefit.
