Karl Menninger, M.D. (Man Against Himself, 1938, 1966), wrote …

“Bacteria, bad food, and sharp corners do exist, but it is often observable that such injuries are invited.”

I’m a SECULAR EXORCIST by profession who deconstructs this causal “character armor” one thought at a time.

Wilhelm Reich, M.D. (The Cancer Biopathy, 1948, 1973), wrote …

“It is imperative, in our work on cancer, that we place sexual pathology, which is generally hated or avoided, at the center of our medical efforts.”

In the same book, Dr. Reich wrote …

“Freud’s discovery of the function of sexual repression made the first breach in the wall that had block our comprehension of the life process. The second step was the correction of Freud’s theory of the unconscious: The repression of human instinctual life is not a natural but rather a pathological result of the suppression of natural instincts, in particular, of genital sexuality. An orgasm that uses most of its energy to keep the natural life process imprisoned within itself cannot comprehend life outside itself. The central manifestation of life is expressed in the genital sexual function, to which life owes its existence and continuation. A society of human beings that has excluded the most essential manifestations of this function and made them unconscious is not capable of living rationally; indeed, everything it says appears distorted and pornographic.”

“HORNYHORNYHORNYHORNYHORNYHORNYHORNY” is what the Tibetans are really sonorously and resonantly chanting, according to Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty).

In 1988, I phoned Adano to ask if he would perform a marriage ceremony for me and my fourth-wife-to-be.

A friend overheard the conversation and asked Adano why I kept wanting to get married all the time.

Adano answered her question with a question. “Are you familiar with St. Anthony’s Prayer?”

“No,” she replied.

“St. Anthony prayed, ‘Please, God, I’ll be good, just give me one more roll in the hay.'”

Zora Neale Hurston (Tell My Horse, 1938, 1995) wrote …

“‘What is truth?’ Dr. Holly asked me, and knowing that I could not answer him he answered himself through a Voodoo ceremony in which the Mambo, that is the priestess, richly dressed is asked this question ritualistically. She replies by throwing back her veil and revealing her sex organs. The ceremony means that this is the infinite, the ultimate truth. There is no mystery beyond the mysterious source of life.”

Adano said …

“Living to die is thinking. Living to live is action.”

… and (relating back to Karl Menninger) …

“Nobody hurts you but yourself. That’s living to die. What you say to your cells makes all the difference in staying alive or being dead.”

… and …

“The more you accept the ‘I-ness’ of yourself, the less you break down. Living to live doesn’t have time. Living to die sets up time. Living to live is equilibrium – bones and muscles start to rearrange themselves the moment you accept living to live.”

… and …

“Spirituality has to do with being practical every moment of your life. My God is a God of the living, not of the dead. Disease is what made me wake up.”

… and …

“There’s only one opportunity greater than being born in a human body on planet Earth – sticking around in a human body forever. My DNAs and RNAs are set up to give me butterflyhood. Instead of living to die, I prefer living to live, and I can only live NOW.”

Christiane Beerlandt (The Key to Self-Liberation: 1000 Diseases and Their Psychological Origins, 1993, 2003) wrote …

“It is a fact that Humanity knows itself to be imprisoned in the ‘web of life and death’ and that it has created consoling perspectives to escape from this concept. And then came the answer, from the very deep source of truth, the most beautiful I ever ‘heard’ – described under the title New Days. The path to physical immorality now lies open to the human being who is open to it; however unbelievable it might sound, it’s about a choice and the consequences of that choice, the consequences of reversing deeply ingrained convictions. Physical transformation follows that inner choice, inner transformation. Every human being is free to believe what he wants and to determine whether or not he will make this or that conscious choice. Here, we can only say that this liberating philosophy creates completely new, joyful perspectives, and once you are on this path of ‘Life’, it will strengthen and enormously uplift your faith.”

Nikolai Ognev (Diary of Kostya Riabtsev, 1926) wrote …

“For man, the whole purpose, the whole meaning of life, lies in life itself, in the process of living. To comprehend the meaning and purpose of life, one must above all love life and become totally submerged in the turmoil of living, it is only then that one can grasp the meaning of life and understand why one is alive. Unlike everything else that man has created, life requires no theory; he who understands the sheer experience of living will by the same token understand the theory of life.”

    Hey Atom,

Thanks for the previous advice you gave to me through the blogs…
about “living to live”, recently i have been listening to a man who goes back to Castenada/Don Juan in reference when talking about our connection with “Mother Earth” whom he says gives us our imagination. sidenotes: that we must learn to give our memories to the great void or something like that and not our essence? that when we die we go into the sun?? but this accepting of the fact that we “have” to die so soon i don’t like…
that whole thing with Castenada was about having death as an adviser which can be invigorating for a while but felt a bit uncomfortable. i feel as well that we can live as long as we want and living to live makes sense.

what are your thoughts on this Atom?

    Greetings -Martin

I prefer letting LIFE be my advisor, not Joe Black.

When death is my advisor, I add, “but not my master.” :)
