Watermelon juice is terrific this time of year. Watermelon is easy to juice in a Vita Mix or a good blender. Always get seeded watermelon, although more difficult to find, and organic if available, also a challenge to find at times.

Why seeded? Well, natural fruits that can propagate other fruits, (seeds), are simply more appropriate to eat in all categories. Think about the banana. See those little brown spots when you cut into a banana? That is where the seeds used to be. Bananas have been so hybridized, homogenized, pasteurized, sprayed and God knows what else, they truly are other than the best fruit to eat. Seeds have energy, chi, prana, mo jo and are life giving. Neutered food is well, neutered. Enough on that.

Seeds contain fat that helps the body deal with the sugar. So, I juice up the watermelon seeds in the Vita Mix, (The Vita Mix grinds em right up, ym!). I also add some flax oil and a high quality Lecithin as in Premier Research Labs Lecithin. The oil and lecithin makes this richer more filling and it up and provide nice fats for super nutrition and a more slow release of the sugar. A slow burn if you will.

I can easily go on just 32 ounces of this drink sipped, (hard to do because it is so good), but really necessary to chew this liguid. Do not gulp. All foods really want to be mixed well with saliva for easy digestion and nutrient utilization.

If you want to play with a nice little fast this summer. Just have watermelon juice as prepared above for breakfast and lunch and some steamed veggies, soup, a nice grain, (seed), like quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat or millet. No starch, no gluten and easy to digest. Do that for a week or a few days and you’ll have so much energy and loose a few pounds along the way.
