Thats an interesting saying that my Mom would utter from time to time.  Truly contemplating on the idea is quite revealing.  For example in its dimpliest terms, we tell someone "Don’t criticize others" and at that moment we are criticizing this person for being critical.  "Do as I say, not as I do."

I sent my satellite TV system packing some time ago.  And it seems that most audio on radio and the internet is filled with the same paradigm.  People talking about how other people are ‘doing thisor ‘believe thatand they should change their ways and…..you know the rest.

I find whenever I fall into that trap it is always unconsciously about me, giving my self a hard time or frustrated about something..  I believe the media is representing what lots of humans are going through right now: confusion, frustration, fear, uncertainty, hopelessness and cynicism.  And we being what we are have a difficult time seeing how we’ve each created our total reality. So rather than look at that we choose to take the easy way out.  We spend most of our waking day talking about this or that person, corporation, law, policy, government, the weather, whatever it is outside of us making our life miserable.

And it just isn’t True.  No one can affect us in any way as long as we llet people and things be.  We observe, take note, protect ourselves if necessary plan for the possible land mines and move on wishing others well.

This is true freedom.
