Did you know that rebounding is the most efficient, effective exercise to:

Reduce body fat

  1. Firm your arms, legs, thighs, abdomen and hips
  2. Get a cardio workout that’s 68% better than running or using a treadmillrebounder 5
  3. Get a great aerobic workout at home
  4. Strengthen your muscles
  5. Pump your lymphatics
  6. Detox your body

…without putting any strain on your joints or going to a gym?

Rebounding (also known as trampolining) is a fun, easy, exhilarating exercise you can do at home while watching TV or listening to music that burns between 100 to 280 extra calories in a 30 minute session.

Rebound exercise is the most efficient, effective form of exercise yet devised by man.

– NASA statement in a scientific study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology 49(5):881-887, 1980

Over twenty years ago, N.A.S.A. said that rebounding is better than running, walking or exercising on a treadmill. It still is. But we’re just beginning to understand all the powerful benefits of rebounding.

N.A.S.A. also said…

…for similar levels of heart rate and oxygen consumption, the magnitude of the biomechanical stimuli is greater with jumping on a trampoline than with running, a finding that might help identify acceleration parameters needed for the design of remedial procedures to avert deconditioning in persons exposed to weightlessness.

The feeling of weightlessness you feel as you’re jumping up and down on a rebounder is nothing short of exhilarating! It happens because for a split second after jumping up, just before you come down, you are actually weightless! Not only does the brain love this, but you come down with an extra G-force (jumping increases the G-force). Our body weight normally measures 1 G, but 4 G is the most efficient for oxygen absorption.

N.A.S.A. found that the jumping movement of rebounding often falls around 4-G’s. This causes the ratio of oxygen consumption to be more than twice as efficient as treadmill running:

While trampolining, as long as the G-force remained below 4-G’s, the ratio of oxygen consumption compared to biomechanical conditioning was sometimes more than twice as efficient as treadmill running.

In fact, N.A.S.A. has been using rebounding to train their astronauts for over twenty years. That’s because N.A.S.A. found that rebounding is 68% more efficient than treadmills, running or other forms of exercise. N.A.S.A. also discovered that rebounding was extremely helpful in rebuilding the bone mass and muscle mass that astronauts lose in the weightlessness of space.

Doctors agree with NASA:

Never in my 35 years as a practicing physician have I found any exercise method, for any price, that will do more for the physical body than rebound exercise.

Here’s Why Rebounding is Different
Essentially, rebounding is bouncing on a mini trampoline. But not just any mini trampoline — and not for the sake of bouncing high or doing gymnastics, as you would do on a regular trampoline. Rebounding utilizes a deep bounce and small, methodical movements plus resistance for a fitness workout superior to any other. In fact, your feet hardly lift off the mat.

A rebounder’s surface (mat) is tighter than a trampoline’s. It has tighter springs so that you get more downward movement in the bounce instead of upward movement. And best of all, rebounding places no strain on the joints of your body. So you can exercise without pain or fear of complications later.

This makes it an excellent exercise for senior citizens, the physically handicapped, the chronically ill, those who are recuperating from an accident or injury, or anyone else who needs gentle but effective exercise.

It’s also great for anyone wanting to lose weight, tone their body, build their stamina or improve their health in a fun and easy way!

The entire family can bounce – from grandma to mom and dad to all the kids — at their own pace and their own level (children love to bounce – it gives them a sense of balance).

Benefits of Rebounding

Rebounding combines the benefits of cardiovascular exercise and strength training. Research shows it’s most efficient and effective type of exercise for the entire body.

And because rebounding is a zero-impact exercise, there is no pressure on injured, arthritic or handicapped joints. Rebounding makes getting cardiovascular exercise, improved circulation, strength training, increased strength, better balance and coordination easy and fun!

What else can rebounding do for you? Here are more benefits of rebounding:

Fitness Benefits:

  1. 68% more efficient than jogging or using a treadmill (NASA, Journal of Applied Physiology 49(5): 881-887). That means you can get an hour’s worth of regular exercising on the rebounder in only half an hour!
  2. Stimulates the metabolism, reducing the likelihood of obesity
  3. Improves resting metabolic rate (so more calories are burned longer after exercising)
  4. Reduces body fat
  5. Firms legs, thighs, abdomen, arms and hips
  6. Builds up strength, stamina, endurance, agility and overall fitness
  7. Increases endurance
  8. Protects the joints from the impact and fatigue you get from exercising on hard surfaces
  9. Improves muscle-to-fat ratio and helps manage body composition
  10. Improves coordination throughout the body
  11. Circulates more oxygen to the tissues
  12. Establishes a better equilibrium between the oxygen required by the tissues and the oxygen made available
  13. Strengthens the musculoskeletal systems due to increased G-force (gravitational load)

Cardiovascular Benefits:

  1. Improves circulation
  2. Helps normalize your blood pressure
  3. Increases the capacity of both the heart and lungs
  4. Helps prevent cardiovascular disease and assists in the rehabilitation of heart problems
  5. Lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  6. Lowers LDL (bad cholesterol) in the blood and increases HDL (good cholesterol)
  7. Increases the activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells
  8. Increases the white blood count and strengthens the immune system

Other Health Benefits:

  1. Promotes tissue repair
  2. Helps combat depression, anxiety and stress by increasing endorphins
  3. Improves mood
  4. Helps digestion and elimination
  5. Stimulates the glandular system, especially the thyroid, to increase its output
  6. Allows for easier relaxation and sleep
  7. Improves mental performance – with sharper learning processes
  8. Stimulates the lymphatic system to carry away accumulated toxins and waste products from your body
  9. Relieves fatigue and menstrual discomfort for women
  10. Slows down aging

How does Rebounding do all this?

Rebounding utilizes three natural forces: gravity, acceleration, and deceleration. When you bounce up and down, your body is subjected to the forces of acceleration and deceleration as well as gravity. This creates a beneficial increase in G Force.

Every cell feels this increase because it’s the equivalent of doubling your weight (your body weight is equal to 1 G Force). This forces the cells to adjust by getting stronger and more efficient.

Lifting weights and working out on a treadmill strengthens only your muscle cells. But rebounding strengthens every single cell in your body — blood cells, brain cells, organ cells, skin cells, eye cells, fat cells — all the cells.

The simple action of bouncing up and down against gravity stimulates your lymphatic system, your circulatory system, your digestive system, your reproductive system, your brain and your entire body without trauma to your musculoskeletal system. No other exercise can do this!

Wouldn’t you love to have these health benefits?

You can! As long as you bounce on a high-quality mini-trampoline, not one of the cheap imitations flooding the market. You can be sure that NASA didn’t do their research on one of those! The imitations have low-end components, inferior bounce and produce poor results.

Not knowing any better, I was using a cheap department store mini-trampoline. Then I tried my friend’s ReboundAIR. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I got myself a ReboundAIR right away and love it! It’s helped me regain my strength and stamina after 12 years of dealing with injuries and Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue because I was unable to exercise in any other way.

What surprised me is that it’s a lot lighter than the cheap one I was using, but the bounce is so much better! I feel wonderful when I’m finished bouncing!
