(NaturalHealth365) What do you think is the best vegetable oil to shorten your life span? Ask most health experts and they’ll tell you to avoid canola oil. And, it’s not just hurting human beings, since canola oil in animal feed has been shown to shorten their life as well.

Canola oil is associated with fibrotic lesions of the heart. Rats developed fatty degeneration of heart, kidney, adrenals and thyroid gland. When the canola oil was withdrawn from their diets the deposits dissolved, but scar tissue remained on all vital organs.

Canola oil wins the “frankenfood” of the year award

Canola oil (formerly called “rapeseed” oil) has long been used as an insect repellent, and is a known toxic to many animals. Cows that are fed large amounts of canola oil aren’t able to metabolize it and become very ill. Canola oil depletes vitamin E levels in pigs and is lethal to insects including pollination insects.

Canola oil is low erucic acid rapeseed oil, which is fully refined, bleached and deodorized to make it edible. Chemically low erucic acid rapeseed oil is a mixture of triglycerides composed of both saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. And, let’s not forget, consuming this partially-hydrogenated oil has been linked to heart muscle damage.

Should we really be eating industrial waste products?

Initially, the rapeseed plant was used to create oil for lubrication especially for machinery in World War 2. After the war, farmers were left with a surplus. Rapeseed oil contains high levels of erucic acid – so scientists started to cross-breed and selective breed for the purpose of creating (low) erucic acid rapeseed – known as LEAR.

For “branding” purposes – the name was changed to canola oil.

The term canola oil wasn’t really used much until the 1990’s, when the marketers wanted to position the product for wide scale use. For this it needed to be granted GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status to be allowed into the food processing industry.

So, without research and testing – which is normally required for GRAS status – canola oil was approved by the USDA in 1995. In 1998, scientist genetically engineered the latest strain to be disease and drought resistant. Not to mention, what genetically engineered oil does to our DNA.

Canola oil is created by a complicated procedure, which uses a combination of extreme heat and chemical solvents to separate the oil stored within the plant. Often, the solvent used is hexane. Traces of hexane, a chemical made from crude oil, are left in canola oil and can cause various symptoms such as headaches and nausea.

Chemical toxicity (poisoning) starts at a very young age

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recently approved canola oil for infant formulas. This fat probably wouldn’t make the list of preferred fats, but with approval from the FDA, formula makers now have another oil to work with and push onto undereducated American consumers.

Previously, the FDA has banned the use of canola oil in baby formula due to possible negative side effects. Science has already suggested that erucic acid, in canola oil, can be harmful to infants – due to a baby’s inability to breakdown this toxic oil.

It’s like a giant de-population experiment on human beings. If we don’t remove this sickening oil from the marketplace, along with many other toxic ingredients like, aspartame – we’ll see more and more babies developing all kinds of horrific diseases. This can truly be called child abuse and it has to stop.
