The Biggest Deception in Healthcare

The biggest deception there ever was in healthcare is that your body is incapable of achieving optimum health without modern medicine.
Well, it’s not true, folks! What is true is that perpetuating this belief is how the pharmaceutical industry not only survives but thrives when, in reality, so many people have (re)turned to other natural alternatives, and achieved significantly better results.
Society has told us since the day we were born that you go to the doctor when you don’t feel well and they kindly give you pills to make you feel better. However, we’re starting to see that the most medicated people in the world are also the sickest, and that the United States is one of the sickest countries in the world, even though they spend the most – BY FAR – on healthcare.[1][2]
Despite all this, many of our brothers and sisters in the United States (and all over the world) still accept the medically-based mindset on how to achieve optimum health, how to get rid of disease, and who to listen to when it comes to taking recommendations, or more appropriately named “orders.â€
Yet, apart from emergency care, reliance on the medical healthcare system is causing us to suffer more than we had ever imagined. As a society we have become reliant on the medical industry to treat the symptoms, not the causes, of disease, even though common ‘treatments’ often come with side-effects that are as bad as the disease they are mean to treat. And as a result, we are seeing increased rates of diseases and syndromes throughout developed nations, and a further increase in our reliance on pharmaceutical ‘solutions’. It’s a vicious cycle.
It’s time to get back to the basics! Fortunately, we have the capacity to take the hurt and use it as motivation to improve the situation. That is human instinct, a natural part of the journey of life.
As Napoleon Hill once said, “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed on an equal or greater benefit.†You can decide where that seed is represented in your life.
Shifting society’s understanding about what constitutes real health and how it can be achieved from a medically-based foundation to the often vilified underdog – a holistic one – is more than just checking a mark on your list. It’s an ever-evolving process. But where do we start?
Start with yourself.
The first step is to begin to understand your own beliefs about how health is achieved and the belief you have in your own physical body to be healthy. Where did these beliefs come from? How have your beliefs mislead you? Where do you believe the actual answers are to your true health potential? Are you afraid to try an alternative remedy or invest in organic food? Do you believe your body can heal and function appropriately on its own? Are you aware that your symptoms are a warning sign of dis-ease in your body? That they have a cause? And that your body is doing its job to inform you so you can take action – not just by treating the symptom, but by addressing the cause?
Our bodies are incredible. They run millions of functions every single day, and we need not consciously monitor or direct. And we couldn’t if we tried.
What makes you think the human body can’t cope without pharmaceutical medicines? It can! And it has for thousands of years, before the event of patented synthetics.
When you own that and understand the unsupportive belief systems that no longer serve your health, you can begin to make progress in your own personal evolution. Baby steps are important. Start by being aware of your food sources. Be honest with yourself about your current state of health, your health goals and your life goals. Look outside the Western ‘medical’ establishment and get a second opinion on your medications and alternatives. And assess whether those medications you are taking are actually creating or supporting a state of good health.
Unfortunately, many of us have lived with mediocre health for so long that we don’t know (or don’t remember) what it feels like to have excellent or very even good health. Frequent flus, pains, and lack of energy have become a part of our lives. And as a society we have become accustomed to steadily-increasing rates of diseases and syndromes. Isn’t it time we stopped and asked why?
The good news is that you really do have the ability to be healthy and well! And well-being isn’t achieved just through avoiding infection or disease. It is an holistic process of caring for our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional selves, and understanding that they are all intrinsically linked. If you think there is an area of your life that isn’t moving forward as it should, or is impacting your overall wellbeing, there are resources to help you – before you develop symptoms of disease.
When you are ready to challenge established thinking, ‘alternative’ online information resources like WakeUp-World.com, GreenMedInfo.com, Guide2Health.net,Thrive-Living.net,BalanceInNutrition.com,OnlineHolisticHealth.comand GlobalHealingCenter.comcan help you find the information you need to improve your health – and the way you consider healthy living. Learn about the scientifically-proven health benefits of organic foods, herbs and spices, compassion, self-awareness, love and gratitude, meditation, yoga, chiropractic, acupuncture and self-empowerment… and any number of other natural solutions that can restore and support a healthy mind, body and spirit.
The way our bodies communicate with us is a beautiful thing. Trust your intuition. It is about honoring yourself, and your connection to your natural state of being.
Armed with your intuition and an understanding that your body is capable of maintaining excellent health, you will know when you a health care professional doesn’t share your priorities, or when health or nutritional advice doesn’t feel right. The same goes with the people in your personal support system. When you understand your potential, making the change is easy.
Love, honor and respect yourself! And respect the gifts of nature that have supported the health and evolution of humanity for so long – without the need for patented pharmaceuticals. Ultimately the answers are within each of us. That is part of our divine consciousness.
I have previously written two articles for Wake Up World about chiropractic, the focus being on how chiropractic can improve of one’s quality of life by realigning the body’s energy systems toexpress our fullinnate intelligence.Understandably, this article may leave you with more questions than my previous articles, which were based on scientific and historical data. My goal today is to facilitate your process of growth and awareness so you can move forward, in full awareness and ownership of your own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual brilliance.
Liberating and supporting the natural life force of the human body can help you perform your best – at all levels. And understanding that is the first step toward reclaiming your health. There is a wealth of science that demonstrates it.
In my professional experience, the benefits of chiropractic are far more effective for those people who have an empowered belief system; who understand that his or her body has a life force that allows it to self-heal, self-control, and self-monitor. For many, diseases, illnesses, medications or surgeries aren’t necessary. Rather, what is required is a belief in ourselves and our body’s innate ability to heal itself through natural, not pharmaceutical, means.
