The Secret to Immunity
With all the hype over vaccinations, the question of what constitutes a strong immune system is a major topic–especially during cold and flu season. What makes a strong immune system? Can an immune system be so strong that vaccinations are not needed? We would answer yes. However, the health of one’s immune system hinges on one main factor: antibodies.
According to Medline Plus, “an antibody is a protein produced by the body’s immune system when it detects harmful substances, called antigens. Examples of antigens include microorganisms (such as bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses) and chemicals. Antibodies may be produced when the immune system mistakenly considers healthy tissue a harmful substance. This is called an autoimmune disorder. Each type of antibody is unique and defends the body against one specific type of antigen.”
Because antibodies are so important–and so specialized–it is important to make sure all your antibodies have the tools they need to operate effectively. And using natural medicine products can give your immune system the proper tools to fight infection:
•Probiotics (Laktokhan): By maintaining a balance between beneficial and harmful bacteria, probiotics helps to manage acute infectious diarrhea and reduces the frequency of gastrointestinal disorders, such as diarrhea and nausea, during antibiotic use. Also they restore the balance of good bacteria, thus helping to normalize digestive function and boost immunity.
•Colloidal Silver: Look for Colloidal Silver that is 20 ppm (electrically charged), and free of nanoparticles. An one with a clever combination of a time-tested antiseptic and disinfectant with a homeopathic method of preparation, producing an excellent, immune-boosting remedy against bacterial infection. Silver, in colloidal form, is becoming increasingly important in the medical world.
•P5P: The active form of Vitamin B-6 is Pyridoxal-5-phosphate, or P5P. This active form allows for the best absorption, because it is ready to go to work immediately. Our bodies need this form of B-6 to break down and use fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, to make red blood cells and antibodies, to help the digestive and nervous systems function, and to maintain healthy skin.
•Ephedra: For five thousand years, Chinese medicine relied on derivatives from plants of the genus Ephedra to treat asthma and hay fever. Ephedra acts as a decongestant, aids in the proper elimination of fluids, and relieves bronchial spasms; these properties make it valuable to sufferers of allergies, asthma, colds, and other respiratory complaints.
•Thymus Gland: The function of the thymus gland is to program white blood cells, the body’s immune army, in their various tasks and then send them into the blood to recognize and destroy pathogens. It ”instructs” certain T-cells what to attack and when. Some of the T-cells, in turn, control other white cells, which are responsible for maintaining certain antibodies. Without the thymus’s instructions, the T-cells may fail to attack enemies like bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells, or they may even mistake some of your own cells for an invading enemy and attack you–known as autoimmune disease.
•Zinc Picolinate: Zinc is a major player in immune system function. It is also an essential trace mineral, which is second only to iron as the most plentiful trace element in the body. Zinc aids in the absorption of B vitamins, and is a constituent of at least 25 enzyme systems, as well as being a component of insulin and of superoxide dismutase. Zinc is essential for growth and development of sexual organs, is important in nucleic acid synthesis and plays a role in carbohydrate and phosphorus metabolism.
