By Carol Crosby
Oh,Bria Gal,we knew you well
From stories our friend Pat would tell
Of how he taught you where to roam
Within perimeters of home.
We knew he fed you beef so rare
He told us of your silky hair.
And how he fought to keep you Free
From illnesses and pesky flea.
And we who listened to the shows
Could hear you in your comes and goes
You didn’t need to whine or holler ;
We knew the jingle of your collar!
And in your final journey,we
Have learned a bit more how to see,
Beyond the veil that parts from us
A place of peace,a way to trust.
For You our dearand darling pet
Have adjourned your time and yet
How Nobly did you show the way
For us to greet our Final Day.
With quiet poise and gaze afar
We saw you focus on a Star
And there for rest and fun you’ll be
Asweetbest friend ;a Soul set free.
Yet should you hanker once again
To come to earth and be a Friend
Please know no matter where you roam
In Patrick’s heart ,you’re always HOME.

What a lovely poem it literally brought tears to my eye. The beautiful photo captures her sweet, good natured soul. Rest in peace Bria. Hugs to you Patrick.

I am so sorry to learn of Bria’s passing. I too looked forwards to hearing her tinkling collar usually on the open line Fridays. She was obviously loved so much by Patrick and “perhaps” unbeknownst to her, the many listeners who tuned in to the show. Bria you were so fortunate to have shared your life with Patrick. His love for you was so evident. Patrick, as someone who also lost my beloved Golden Retriever girl eight years ago, I deeply share the sadness you must feel. Thank you for people like you in this world.
