I always use some fat when having watermelon juice or fruit smoothies.  Why?  Good fats, ie: Coconut oil, Hemp Oil, Flax oil, Premier Research Lecithin, olive oil are essential for good health.  No question. Period.

Having said that.  When we take these fats with fruit juice it penetrates the cells of these raw foods and makes the nutrients more available to us.  Also, the fat slows the absorption of the fruit sugar in the blood stream and we get a much more balanced lift from the fruit.  There are no big ups or downs.  Its simply a smoother and slower burn of the fruit sugar.

Make no mistake, many of us have to be careful of how much fruit we consume.  Sweet is an addictive hit and it is easy to overdo fruit.  We can certainly get away with more in the hot summer months.  Try watermelon in a Vita Mix strong blender, (seeds and all because the seeds have fat), use some flax oil and also try Premier Research Labs Lecithin if you can get it.  I just made a Vita Mix pitcher full using this recipe and I added a couple TB of Premier Research Labs Tocotrienols, a super blend of specially  prepared stabilized rice bran for blood sugar support and energy.

I am thinking of doing a watermelon fast with this recipe for a week or so, just to see what I see.  We’ll see.
