Re: I would love to know a day of eating for you. What does that look like?
Here’s a recent example of my Solar Nutrition style of eating.
I’d eat more if I weren’t living a couch potato lifestyle by earning my living on the internet.
Thanks to all of you who are buying our e-books and videos.

I eat more when I’m not on the computer most of the day.
Vibrant Gal’s eating is very similar, but without sauces and drinking a lot less coffee.
<>
I’ve been eating On Time (Solar Nutrition) since 1975, starting several months before meeting Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty).
It’s worked quite well for me, and even better since cherry-picking some of Ray Peat’s suggestions.
<>
People who eat in restaurants can easily follow Solar Nutrition too.
I did a lot of restaurant eating back in the day, but became a voluntary hermit several years before corona restrictions.

Coffee with sugar over maple and cocoa?

It’s a budgetary choice due to the coronavirus economy. :-D
Otherwise, we’re doing great. Hoping all is well with you and yours!

Re: Being awake at 3:00 a.m. is good for your lungs and brain.
That’s why medical doctors condemn it as Advanced Sleep Phase Disorder (ASPD).
If they were correct, every farmer in the world would be sick.

Re: I thought vitamin C is not heat-tolerant, so if you cook it, is it still stable?
You lose some off the top and gain some off the bottom.
Heat destroys some, but destroyed cell walls make more available.

Atom, how do you dextrinize tomatoes?
July 23, 2021 @ 2:58 pm Atom
Put raw tomatoes in the oven for 30 minutes at 200° Fahrenheit to pyro-dextrinize them.
I cut each tomato into 4 to 6 pieces for more thorough exposure to the heat.
It brings out the sweetness to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the variety of tomato.

Thanks for this introduction to V. C.
Appreciate it, for my mother, who might give him an ear.
Can you remind me again, what this dextrinization does? Do you “lose some off the top, gain some from the bottom†? ( 200 is past the temp. for dehydrating, so technically, you have cooked them, and “killed†them, correct? ) I remember some years back reading a lot of your blog, and doing the potato thing, and loving how that changed the potatoes. How they felt better.

There are several kinds of pyro-dextrinization, including one type that occurs over 400° Fahrenheit.
Dextrinization turns complex carbohydrates into simple sugars — transforming them into high-octane fuel.
A sweet fruit TOTALLY ripened by solar radiation is the ideal form of dextrinization.
Long story short, cooking food gave us our big human brains, including our art, poetry, and science. Unfortunately, it also gave us our dystopian society, hellbent on destroying planet Earth.
High-level wellness involves from 20% to 80% raw foods — depending on what you’re eating — to help prevent cancer and other diseases.
This is a great topic for extended discussion on my next One Radio Network show!

Atom, if the tomatoes are already sweet, and other veg. too ( apropos of reading what you eat in a day, which sounds wonderful, by the way! ) because they are high-brix, what is the value of losing their life, in the service of making them sweeter?
I was thinking there must be more to it than that. Does it make them more vio-avaialble, in your experience? Stay well.

Thoroughly VINE-RIPENED tomatoes are filled with simple sugars and delicious to the taste.
Dextrinization converts extra complex carbohydrates into simple sugars.
Both are excellent choices. The first provides extra nitrogen for protein in the form of free-form amino acids.
The second activates lycopene, a beneficial antioxidant.
It your stomach and pancreas are working correctly, all plant enzymes will be destroyed and rebuilt from scratch in a way more compatible with human tissue requirements.

Hi Atom, which of Ray Peat’s suggestions did you cherry-pick?
July 24, 2021 @ 6:15 pm Atom
The four most important things are …
1) I stopped eating tuna and mayo.
2) I eat oranges almost every day.
3) I eat refined white sugar — lots of it if wounded or stressed.
4) I eat refined white salt (sodium chloride).
My Yellow Fat Disease is in remission.
Solar Nutrition is still my mainstay after all these revolutions around the Sun.

Hi Atom, what does the white refined sugar do for you?
August 5, 2021 @ 5:39 pm Atom
White granulated sugar is one of the few refined products I use.
It supplies extra glucose to my brain and extra fructose to my liver.
My book-writing speed has more than doubled. I’m simultaneously working on four e-books this month.
Coffee with lots of sugar is one of the best flu remedies I’ve found.
When stressed, I shovel in a few teaspoons of sugar, sometimes combined with whole cream.
White sugar is also an excellent preservative. That’s why it’s used in canning and freezing.
According to Dr. Google …
“Granulated table sugar (sucrose) is the most frequently used sweetener in canning and freezing. Sugar helps preserve the color, texture and flavor of the food. The sugar in jams and jellies helps the gel to form, and increases the flavor.”
