COVID-19 and Humanity’s Spiritual Awakening
The emergence of COVID-19 turned the world upside down causing mass causalities and sickness, economic ruin, and social unrest in the streets. However, despite the pandemic’s tragic and chaotic nature, the virus has also been a catalyst for the spiritual awakening of humanity on a scale not seen at any time since possibly World War II.In COVID-19 and Humanity’s Spiritual Awakening, Forrest Rivers walks the reader through the myriad of ways in which the virus has served to awaken the inborn seeds of truth, wisdom, and the acknowledgment of our common roots as one human family.
Forrest Rivers is the author of “The Hippie Revival and Collected Writings” and “COVID-19 & Humanity’s Spiritual Awakening.”
He describes how his spiritual awakening began at the age of 30 on a visit to Maui, Hawaii. A spontaneous meditation led him to the teachings of Buddhist, Hindu, and Taoist mystics.
“Ram Dass influenced me on the spiritual path, where there are many pitfalls,” says Forrest.
How did Forrest’s life transform into the teacher he is today, dividing his time between Colorado and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina? He describes his transformative experience at length.
Patrick and Forrest discuss living in the mountains, and how it can help us live longer.
How can we live a life of service? How do we regain our spiritual Oneness?
How is Covid-19 helping humanity wake up? What obstacles do we have to face to do so?
How does personal accountability factor into growth? Why does freedom involve taking ownership of your life?
Colleges don’t want you to think for yourself. “They want you to be more woke than awake,” according to Forrest, who did some dropping out of college along the way.
“Colleges don’t care about consciousness expansion,” says Forrest. Consciousness is at cross purposes with their agenda.
What is the age-old strategy of Divide and Conquer? What is real diversity?
What are we lacking in our society right now? What is Heart-Mind and how does it differ from “thinking”?
“One of my favorite phrases is, ‘You know more than you think you do’,” says Forrest.
A listener asks, “What are the chances of a Hippie Revival? I can’t imagine a Great Awakening without hordes of hippies.”
“Nature walks are one of my greatest spiritual practices,” Forrest says. “I’m blissed out the whole time.”
Patrick and Forrest discuss the people who are shaming those who won’t wear masks or refuse to be vaccinated.
It starts raining at the One Radio Network studio in Dripping Springs — a perfect spiritual blessing to punctuate this conversation.
