To vaccinate or not is a huge decision which should not be taken lightly. Barbara Loe Fisher knows this firsthand as her own son was vaccine injured in 1980.However, Ms. Fisher is not on a soapbox demonizing vaccines, she has made it her life work to bring awareness to the public about the truth aboutvaccines and how they are being sold to the publicso that individuals and parents can make informed decisions on their own health and the health of their children.

In this interview, Ms. Fisher gives us background on the influenza vaccine and the players involved. Why is it that it is being recommended for every American to have an annual flu shot, when years ago it wasn’t? And what about the childhood diseases like chickenpox? Children rarely died from childhood diseases and built great immunity after having gone through them. Barbara Loe Fisher is president of the National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC), a non-profit charity she co-founded with parents of DPT vaccine injured children in 1982. For the past three decades, she has led a national, grassroots movement and public information campaign to institute vaccine safety reforms and informed consent protections in the public health system. She has researched, analyzed and publicly articulated the major issues involving the science, policy, law, ethics and politics of vaccination to become one of the world’s leading non-medical, consumer advocacy experts on the subject
