Our guests tells some fairly amazing stories of patients, liver regeneration and Alpha Lipoic Acid
He talks about dosages, relationship with Vitamin B’s and making sure the Alpha Lipoic Acid is sourced in Germany and not China.
Alpha Lipoic one know side effects is it will lower blood sugar and those who are on the hypoglycemic end of the equation, should take note of this
Auto immune “diseases” explained and how Low Dose Naltrexone may be of value to many
See hot link above to look at some of Dr. Berkson’s peer reviewed papers on LDN and Alpha Lipoic Acid
He gives details here on a blood test to check auto immune things going on and also liver health
Some emails:

Liver cancers been gone since Dec 1998. Yes the liver DOES regenerate
I know you treated a lot of people with Hep C.  Those of your patients who did the  Harvoni  how did they fair.
I seem to not feel well after the Harvoni treatment….. is that just me  or is that a common side effect.
any ideas what to do ?
What is the difference between R-ALA and the regular ALA
Let’s not forget that LDN is still a Western allopathic pharmaceutical, and can have detrimental side effects. My son was on it for a few months for Grave’s Disease, and he experienced a couple of problems one of which he had never had before and the other got worse; and these have been present somewhat for 2 years now, since stopping the LDN.
How can we make sure the oils in the ALA is not rancid.Do u recommend a brand?
A lot of people report sleep disturbance while trying to go on the LDN protocol…. I too experienced insomnia at the lowest starting dose and had to quit… Can anything be done to mitigate this side effect?
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a mercury-chelating antioxidant.
Some people with mercury fillings claim that they had a major mercury and arsenic redistribution that effected their health when they took ALA.

Great show Patrick. Where can I get a case of alpha lipoic acid?
September 29, 2018 @ 2:12 pm Ross
I got ALA from Nutricost. I called the company in UT , and it is Pharmaceutical grade made in the USA by a company in California. I think it was $15 600mg 240 cap

Pharmaceutical grade means not much Ross, you want it sourced from Germany or Italy according to Dr. B

Did you find out if Pure Encapsulations ALA is sourced in Germany?
April 28, 2022 @ 3:47 pm Lori Kooiman
I reached out to Pure Encapsulations, and they said their source was China.
May 17, 2021 @ 1:23 pm Denise Otten
Actually, Nutricost gets their RAW ALA from CHINA. Do not put that into a sick liver…you’ll see your ast/alt #’s go up. Yes I work with the Berkson Protocol and it’s best to buy METABOLIC MAINTENANCE…and If Biotech Pharmacal starts producing ALA again,..they would be another good source. This is what Dr.Berkson uses.

I get my European sourced alpha lipoic acid, ThioGel, from Ethical Alternative Products.
It is sourced from Germany. You can get a free trial, just pay shipping and handling of $7.95.

Yes. Great show Patrick….you should check out the best brand for us…you can do it
September 22, 2018 @ 10:12 am patrick
Hello,
Dr. Bekson says either Germany or Italian made ALA’s are what we want…and I confrimed with him on this one and he says Yes !!
Metabolic Maintenance – This one is made in Italy through Amazon

I bought Superior Labs Alpha Lipoic Acid from Amazon. The bottle says it is Made In USA. The label says it has zero synthetic additives, stearates, or fillers, just 600 mg. ALA plus plant cellulose capsules and organic rice extract, certified GMP facility.
I also have some time-release NATROL ALA capsules with lots of “other ingredients” that says it is manufactured by NATROL, LLC of Chatsworth, CA, but the product isn’t labeled as Made In USA.
The NATROL brand probably doesn’t meet Dr. Berkson’s quality standards, but I wonder if the Superior Labs one would meet German standards.

I would call the company. Dr. Berkson has said on and off the air, the only Country producing the primo stuff is Germany and Italy. It’s inexpensive…I would just get the one above posted we know is from Italy…and Dr. B says is a good one.
Know the Source

I live in Heber Springs, Ark. and am hoping you can direct me to a dentist trained in Dr. Robert Dowling’s DITI method. It would be wonderful to find a doctor in Little Rock, Ark. or north Arkansas, or anyplace in the state.
Thanks so much!!!
Gloria Cathey

Not sure on this one. I would contact Dr. Dowling directly through his website. Not familiar with DITI. We are up on most dental procedures…if you can be more specific we may be able to help you move along towards your goals.

I live in north central Arkansas, and I’m looking for a dentist that does Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI). It involves a whole body scan that shows hot spots in the mouth/head that corresponds to hot spots in the body where health problems can be detected, primarily cancer.
Thanks so very much,
Gloria Cathey

Hello Gloria Cathey,
You might want to call Dr. John Bain in Farmington (just SW of Fayetteville, AR). I know he removes mercury fillings and he might also do DITI. It’s worth a call. If he doesn’t do it, I’m sure he will know who does. Good Luck!

Ross, not sure if pharmaceutical grade means anything of value. It may. However, Dr. Berkson says the only good places of origin are Germany and Italy. We found one from Italy, that Dr. B says is good, and have the link to Amazon in this thread.

Can you give me the Company name and email address so that I can get it directly. I don’t trust Amazon when it comes to Supplements. Once we saw that someone purchased known pills but they came in capsule form. Don’t know anything more than that, but I would rather get straight from the source. Can you help me? Thank you!

Go to thiogel.com, their alpha lipoic acid is sourced from Germany.
Free trial is available (S&H $7.95). Regular price is $ 34.95 for 60 softgels, 200mg.
Automatic shipment price is $27.95 and free shipping.

I would just search on the web maybe using this term Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) or just Thermal Imaging in the biggest cites near you…I suspect you will find one. These are more and more popular. The good ones have you cool down significantly in a dedicated room prior to taking the shots.
Years ago a dentist who was way out in front of the breast cancer/root canal connection said on a show that done properly that he could see small, small red dots that could develop into a tumor ten years down the road.
Do keep in mind however that if you see some small heat points…that you can easily change those trapped energy spots through changing thinking, beliefs, worry etc. and clean up diet, lifestyle and detoxing. Remember, whatever you may see is just a quick snapshot in time and space and the body can release this energy anytime…and it will if that is your desire

For the benefit of the individuals asking about alpha lipoic acid products that are sourced from Italy and Germany, I want to clarify what that means. All alpha lipoic acid products are made from a raw material ALA powder that is made in many countries throughout the world. We sell a product called ThioGel that is made from raw material ALA that is made in Germany. We had used an Italian source for many years (Antibioticos), but supply of this material in the U.S. was discontinued 5-6 years ago. We used another Italian source for a few years but were not completely happy about its performance in our manufacturing process. We have been using the German ALA raw material for about 3 years and believe it is the best available source of ALA powder.
The finished ALA product is almost always made in the U.S., so when a supplier states that their product is made in the U.S. they are referring only to the manufacture of the finished product (capsules, tablets, softgels, etc). The raw material ALA used by the great majority of U.S. suppliers is purchased from China, because the cost of Chinese-made ALA is a fraction of the cost of European ALA raw powder. This lower cost comes with serious concerns about the manufacturing controls employed within the less-regulated Chinese market. Because of these concerns, we have chosen to continue using ALA raw material made in Europe, even though the cost is substantially higher. We think this is particularly justified in the case of a nutritional product that is consumed every day for long periods. As a case in point, I have been taking a daily dose of ThioGel for 19 years.

Looks like ThioGel is back to using the Italian manufacturer – which maybe now has improved. It really surprised me when I looked at ThioGel’s label since the company seems to work hard at sourcing quality ALA. It would be nice if the majority of the other ingredients in ThioGel were safer other than polyethylene glycol and propylene glycol, even soy lecithin since soy is highly contaminated with pesticides. A great percentage of people have anti-bodies to these ingredients and many are highly allergic. Please consider using other safer carriers.

Hello. Great info, thanks so much! I don’t have any liver issues, but I do try to be somewhat healthy, despite drinking and eating wheat products. I might’ve missed it, but what kind of ALA Dosages are we talking about if a person is healthy, and also if a person does have serious liver issues. Thanks again, and God bless!
