Dr. Kelly Brogan, MD
Holistic Psychiatrist and Author of A Mind of Your Own
Depression is not a disease. It’s a symptom.
Recent years have seen a shocking increase in antidepressant use the world over, with 1 in 4 women starting their day with medication. But the truth is, what women really need can’t be found at a pharmacy.
According to Dr. Kelly Brogan, antidepressants not only overpromise and underdeliver, but their use may permanently disable the body’s self-healing potential.
We need a new paradigm: The best way to heal the mind is to heal the whole body.
In this groundbreaking, science-based and holistic approach, Dr. Brogan shatters the mythology conventional medicine has built around the causes and treatment of depression. Based on her expert interpretation of published studies, combined with years of clinical experience, Dr. Brogan illuminates the true cause of depression—and inflammation is at the root.
A Mind of Your Own offers a realistic action plan that women can use to heal their bodies, alleviate inflammation, and feel like themselves again without a single prescription.
Bold, brave, and revolutionary, A Mind of Your Own takes readers on a journey of self-empowerment for radical transformation that goes far beyond symptom relief – into true healing.
Show Highlights:
-Dr. Brogan’s book was shunned by by mainstream media, but it ended up on bestseller lists anyway.
-Psychiatry has no way of confirming with any objectivity what a diagnosis is.
-Psychiatric model of depression – a chemical imbalance you’re probably born with that will need to be managed with medication for the rest of your life.
-Depression is a symptom not a disease. First step, ask why the person is depressed. Many physical causes as well as emotional drivers.
-Anxiety is a bodily experience, and the mind then labels it. Blood sugar instability has the same symptoms as anxiety.
-Good nutrition has turned around mental illness in a month. Disproves idea of mental illness as a chemical imbalance in the brain.
-Older theory of depression is a monoamine imbalance in chemicals like serotonin. Newer thinking is it’s cytokine imbalances – the gut is a source of much inflammatory signaling and can impact the brain.
-We don’t know what consciousness-altering meds are really doing. They have effect because of expectancy of effect. Anti-depressants don’t outperform placebos in any meaningful way.
-Never just stop psych meds; they are addictive. Some meds require a taper of 1% per month. Taper easier if body healed first. Vital Mind Reset – 44 day program on Dr. Brogan’s website for healing before beginning a med taper.
-It’s not as simple as substituting natural supplements (e.g. amino acids, GABA) for pharmaceutical agents.
-The gut as a second brain. Food is epigenetic information.
-Prescribes 3 minutes of kundalina medication as a template every day for her patients.
-Recommends a red meat inclusive diet, along with fish, poultry, eggs, vegetables, good fats, and microbiota acceptable carbohydrates. Don’t touch soy and corn if you don’t know it’s GMO-free.
-No data on lithium orotate to know if it’s beneficial.
-Psychiatric meds can leave long-term detrimental effects after they’re discontinued.
-MadInAmerica.com or SSRIstories.org cover news-making violent incidents. Patients were all recently medicated, or withdrawn from the med, or had dosage changed. Swings in the amount of consciousness altering drugs in the body cause violent behavior. Information is redacted from records re: psychiatric medication. Conspiracy to protect the population from the truth about these medications. No acknowledgement that the meds caused the problems.

Sharry Edwards’ BioAcoustics work has revealed a commonality among traumatic brain injury and PTSD patients:
Level 1 (people have a problem but don’t realize it; schizophrenics): imbalances in Calcium, Niacin, Linolenic Acid, Zinc
Level 2 (they know something is wrong; many commit suicide): imbalances or shortages of Magnesium, Progesterone, Choline, B5 (Pantothenic acid)
One PTSD sufferer who was unable to sleep for more than an hour slept 12 hours straight immediately after she listened to the customized audio frequencies.

I have great respect for Dr. Brogan’s bravery to speak out – please have some of the people she mentioned at the end of the interview on your show who are looking into the link between medication and mass shootings.

Someone should look into the link between obsessive CNN addiction, flirting with joining the legions of ‘Ellen’ and ‘Oprah’ , and obesity.
Obesity leads to Doritos, which can result in chronic reruns of Diet Coke, which has been linked to fake mass shootings. The end.
