Smartmeters have been a hot topic here on One Radio Network in the past 18 months or so. Dr. Pressley will discuss the landmark decision for Texans to be able to opt out of smart meter installations and the dangers and privacy issues of the equipment. PressleyDr. Laura Pressley has a Ph.D. from University of Texas at Austin in Physical Chemistry. She’s worked for over 22 years in the science and semiconductor industry as an engineer and manager at Motorola, Advanced Micro Devices and Freescale Semiconductor. She is author of numerous peer reviewed research publications and US patents. She is also a small business owner in the organic food industry and is cofounder of Pure Rain Purified Rain Water which is fluoride free purified rain water which can be purchased at Whole Foods, and Central Market stores across Texas. She is a former candidate for the Austin City Council and is an government accountability activist in the Austin area and has testified against the TSA, fluoridation of municipal tap water, and most recently has worked with Austin Energy to implement the first Smart Meter Opt Out Program in Texas.
