A very interesting guest with great points about the monopoly of conventional medicine and how that has lead to an epidemic of chronic disease. Not new information but well said.
His point about the absolute necessity to “mineralize the body everyday” using supplements flys in the face of findings of researchers like Weston A. Price who, 100 years ago, found vibrantly healthy people living in isolation from modern ways of living. These people lived without benefit of doctors, dentists AND supplements. They had several things in common, not the least of which was nutrient dense food usually from animal (or insect) sources. So . . . how were these people so very healthy – even in to advanced age – without supplements to provide the minerals they needed? As Dr. Glidden said – the body is very intelligent. Could the body have found ways to “extract to the max” minerals from some source unknown to us??? Just sayin’

I see he mentioned Dr. Wallach quite a bit. Dr. Wallach has a big supplement line called Youngevity. Not sure if Glidden profits from it or not, maybe this is why he is pushing supplements. Back in the day of Price, the cultures he studied were free from the toxic waste dump we live in today, so maybe supplementation is necessary for some folks in order to get the minerals. I have found the fermented cod liver oil/butter oil to be the most beneficial supplement for me. I haven’t noticed anything with any of the other supplements I take or have taken. Price was on to something. Too bad too few doctors and dentists think so too.

I think the people that Weston Price studied lived in a clean, unpolluted environment. Before the days of massive use of chemical fertilizers and mono-cropping. Thus, their food came from rich soil, from which you could get all the minerals you needed.

there are so many integrative/ functional /anti-aging MD’s that know so much more about nutrition ,vitamins, minerals.that your guest knows. I get his point and and i mostly agree, but he really should not say all MD’s, it make himself look like a fool.
