Dr. Ray Peat, Ph.D

Renowned Nutritional Counselor

“Hello Patrick from Melbourne Australia,
Just a quick message to say thank you and to let you know that I enjoyed your show with Dr Ray Peat immensely. He has so much knowledge across a broad spectrum of topics. Thank you so much for bringing him on and for doing what you do!!! I hope to hear more of Dr Peat in your future shows.”

“I just want to tell you how much I enjoy your recent interviews with Dr Ray Peat. I am thrilled waiting for the next one. I have known his work for quite some time, but it is so refreshing to listen to your shows. I hope you will carry on with cooperation. Dr Peat has endless knowledge to share and each time I listen to him I find something new and eye-opening. His knowledge and perspective are absolutely unique. In the world of keto, low carb nonsense, sugar hate and corrupted science, he is the last voice of honesty and sanity.” Best regards Ania from Poland

Ray Peat acquired his PhD from the University of Oregon with a specialization in physiology. He started his work on hormones in 1968 and wrote his dissertation in 1972 in which he outlined his ideas on progesterone and the hormones closely related to it. His main thesis is that energy and structure are interdependent at every level.

Late in the show Dr. Peat gives a nice clear explanation on the process of cancer cells growing, tumor formation etc. and the hazards of biopsy’s

We talk about Dr. Peat’s interest and use of  animal milk, a product so many “natural” folks say not meant for human consumption

He is a big fan and drinks it and says most of the negativity about dairy is ill conceived.

Testing on mice, rate etc. for human products is done all the time, and there are some reasons why these studies are flawed

Too much meat and fish can cause an overbalance in phosphates…high in these foods

The value of progesterone from natural sources

Soaking grains and beans for 24 hours indeed yields a much more digestible food

Asked if a good quality Whey Protein is worth considering and Dr. Peat replied, “Yes indeed”

Low Thyroid function will cause the body to dump more salt than normal

Dr. Peat recommends when blood testing, also test:  Free Fatty Acids; Prolactin;Lactic Acid: Calcium/Phosphate ratio and Parathyroid Hormone levels

Carbon Dioxide’s role in Cancer

Some of the many emails:

What laboratory tests would Dr. Peat advise for a good health assessment? Would the following markers be a good choice for a middle aged man:
TSH, T3, T4, Prolactin, DHEA, Testosterone, Cortisol, Vitamin D, vitamin A, Magnesium content of red blood cells..
Are there any others that Dr. Peat would suggest?

What does Dr. Peat think about Vitamin A toxicity. It has become a new movement to stop eating Vitamin A containing foods due to findings of Dr. Garrett Smith and Grant Generoux. Their findings look convincing. Has Dr. Peat looked into their arguments and supporting research details?

What does Dr. Peat think about reducing endo-toxin from gut bacteria by using potent plant anti-microbials such as garlic, ginger, cloves, black cumin seeds, dill seeds.

Does  Dr. Peat have any insight on leg vascular insufficiency and or Lipedema.  Thank you both for making all this knowledge available

Accelerated lipofuscin accumulation and oxidative stress are definitely involved in autism. Does the oxidative stress cause the lipofuscin accumulation or is it the other way around?

Would soaking wheat work for making healthier breads?

What about the A1 vs A2 casein in milk controversy?

Are the new digital x-rays significantly less dangerous than the older x-rays?

If someone has a problem converting T4 to T3 and has slightly high reverse T3, are they better off taking Armour or Cytomel? I started Cytomel at 5 mcg but started getting headaches. My doctor wants me to switch to Armour.

What does your guest recommend for low thyroidism and high blood pressure?
We recently started taking Wayne’s Living Streams products which seems to have helped other symptoms but not high blood pressure yet. I stopped taking Armor Thyroid when I started Living Streams. Should I have eased odd the Armor?
