Dr. Nunnally’s philosophy of biological dentistry recognizes that the teeth, and associated structures, are an integral part of the whole body. This Whole Body philosophy stresses the use of safe biocompatible dental materials whenever possible. Dr. Nunnally also works closely with qualified health professionals to assist him in his efforts to return the patient to optimal oral and overall health. His Health-Focused approach to biological/holistic dentistry means that he treats the teeth, jaw, and related oral structures, with specific regard to how that treatment will affect the entire body.
Show Highlights:
-Depressed serum phosphorous levels make one more prone to decay
-Too many carbohydrates upset mineral levels and phosphorous levels preventing the teeth from cleansing themselves
-Removing mercury filling improperly can cause more harm than good
-The wonders of ozone and vitamin c therapy
-What are cavitations and how prevalent are they?
-Are titanium implants safe? Dr. Nunnally prefers zirconium over titanium, but recommends a bridge instead of implantation
-Can a tooth without a root canal still be the cause of disease in that organ on the same acupuncture meridian?
-Question from a listener: I had a lower left molar extracted 2 months ago and I got dry socket. The dentist removed the ligament with an instrument but did not use a drill. I now assume the jaw bone will not fill in properly. I want to have it cleaned out again so it heals properly with a blood clot.
Q. How long can I wait before doing that ?
Q. How will I know later on that the bone has healed properly and it does not have a cavitation ?
-Question from a listener:I have been asked to remove my wisdom tooth. It has a cavity and it’s very sensitive to temperature and I don’t eat from that side.
1) So, the question is what should I look out for when going for a wisdom tooth (per dentist, decay in the pulp chamber) extraction? Are there any questions I should ask the surgeon?
2) Next to the bad wisdom tooth is another tooth(#15) that may be bad, it currently has a cover over it. The dentist stated that she can diagnose it better once the wisdom tooth is out of the way. If the tooth can be saved-recommends root canal, if not another extraction and then an implant. I have already lost #14 tooth, #13 has been ground down to fit in the cover. Any thoughts on this matter?
-Are CERAC still the best crowns? And are VALPLAST the best partials? If not what is?
-Question from a listener:I have an implant with Titanium and the gum keeps growing around the implant even after a few surgeries. Is there any solution for this problem?
-Is anything that can be done for the white marks on the teeth that are caused by fluorosis ?
-Question from a listener:Is it possible to know if a root canal is causing muscle pain or does the root canal need to be removed first to find out?
-Question from a listener:Until we remove any mercury fillings and clean up any root canals, what are some of things that we can do to help our bodies deal with the toxicity caused by still having them?
and so much more!!!!

Zirconium implants are thick and bulky, and therefore not advised for end-of-row situations, like missing back teeth. That means titanium impants or you don’t chew properly. Dr Nunnally advocates removal of all root-canalled teeth, even if they are asymptomatic. Stimulating fear is a big money-earner for him, and his theories, which run counter to established dentistry, could leave your mouth with several removable bridges, and missing back teeth, instead of functional, crowned root canals.

I agree with Trevor. Not all root canals will need to be removed. There is a lot of fear mongering out there. I have an old root canal tooth that I am debating whether to have removed. I had a mouth full of metal and had all that metal replaced. I have not felt one bit of difference in my health, and I had it removed properly. Makes me wonder if my health issues will be alleviated with the removal of the root canal tooth or a waste of time and money to have it extracted and now left without a tooth. I think some dentists are getting on the bandwagon of biological dentistry. Some claiming to be metal free yet advocating for root canals. I went to such a dentist. She recommended an immediate root canal. Said the tooth was infected even though I felt no pain there. Told me the infection could spread very quickly. Basically, tried putting enough fear in me to get that root canal. That was a year ago and I still have that tooth with no problems and my current dentist says I would have certain symptoms if it were infected. She claimed to follow Hal Huggins protocol but yet still advocated root canals and didn’t believe diet had any affect on oral health. Just because someone claims to be a biological dentist, still do your homework before having any work done.
