Dr. Coleman was on the show last week and we enjoyed him so much, we’ve invited him once again. We touched briefly on why he is a vegetarian; Dr. Coleman has a real love for animals. He will discuss animal issues in this special encore interview.
Dr Vernon Coleman MB ChB DSc FRSA qualified as a doctor and is still a registered GP though he has not practiced for many years. He resigned as a GP after refusing to put diagnoses on sick notes. He resigned as columnist on The Sunday People after the editor refused to print a column criticizing the Iraq war.He is the author of over 100 books – including fiction and non fiction.
Novels include Mrs Caldicot’s Cabbage War (which has been filmed).
Non fiction best sellers include Bodypower and How to Stop Your Doctor Killing You.
In 1983 he launched the world’s first medical software for home computers. He has written columns for many major newspapers (including The Sun and The People) and written articles for many more. He has made many TV and radio series (often based on his books.)
Over nearly 50 years he has campaigned on many issues involving both people and animals and has as a result made many enemies among powerful pressure groups defending the interests of drug, food and oil companies. But his books remain popular with readers and independent critics.
-Unknown reliability of animal experiment tests. The drug company wins either way. If the drugs causes harm to animals, they say animals are different. If they don’t cause harm, they say it’s been shown to be safe on animals.
-Thalidomide passed as safe based on animal tests. Aspirin and penicillin kill cats.
-Delaying tactic of “We haven’t finished our research yetâ€, even when harms are already known.
-Inadequate testing to get product to market early to start reaping profits.
-Unrecognized intelligence and reasoning of animals.
-Animals are soul.
-Vegetarians less likely to be hospitalized, have heart attacks, or have food poisoning.
-Drain on water and land resources to raise animals for food.
-Toxins accumulate in the fat of animals. Rise in breast cancer due to increased consumption of meat with chemicals in it.
-Cage-free is not a defined term. Chickens suffer increased adrenaline from stress, vulnerability to infections in overcrowded conditions.
-Antibiotics increase the yield from an animal. Antibiotic resistance from antibiotics given to animals.
-Drug industry pushing to create more vaccines for dogs and cats. No proven safety or benefit.

Hello Patrick, I was delighted you invited Vernon Coleman back on your show. You have to see him in action debating against the pharmaceutical and medical mafia to appreciate how brilliant he is. I based my style of debating on his knowledge. He’s an absolute hero for animals and has made many enemies because he cares so much for people and animals. Unfortunately the public are so brain washed by the high priests of vivisection and the status quo that they cant see the forest for the trees, and don’t understand the reasons we are all so sick. Unfortunately the status quo are so frightened of him they wont debate live and uncensored against him. The reason we have so many side effects and we cant cure anything is animal experiments, you just have to look back into history to see animals had nothing to do with some of the drugs we use today, in fact they just mislead researchers. He mentioned on a previous shoe about digitalis which was observed by William Withering who noticed gypsies were using the foxglove plant to treat heart disease. So it was either found in humans first or it was serendipity that they were discovered, in fact many drugs have been discarded because of animal experiments which were later found to be useful when tried in humans.
Dear Patrick,
I’m not sure you can state that no one is hurt in the production of colostrum.
I think you are putting the farmer into a position to make choices that can, and probably will result in harm to someone.
I have a dairy goat farm. I have roughly 100 does. Colostrum is produces when babies are coming. If my does all have twins that’s 200 babies, although, triplets are more common in the older does. Maybe half of these babies are boys, usually more. That’s 100 little boys looking for pet or breeding homes.
Not so easy to find. Most older advice was to plan which mamas you might want bucks from and then just drown the rest before they take that first breath. Myself, I’m hoping for people to remember that we are omnivores and see how healthy meat can be for us. Definitely put your money towards clean products, which it seems you are pretty good at, but the pond ripples far.

We used to take in hens which were taken from battery farms. When they died we had a vet test them and most had cancer
