Too often we look at teen addicts as bad kids whose lack of motivation gets them into their predicament—and keeps them there. But research shows that addiction is more like a disease, not a lack of willpower. So, what can we do to prevent teen addiction, and how can we help young adults already suffering from substance abuse?
In Teen Addiction, husband-and-wife team Dr. Ronald P. Santasiero and Dr. Cherie Santasiero share their personal and professional insights from years of treating young drug addicts, using traditional and holistic medicine.
Writing to educate and encourage parents, educators, and health care professionals, their essential resource guide offers in-depth scholarly information as well as personal stories. They debunk myths; clarify the difference between addiction, dependence, tolerance, and abuse; answer how much genetics, as well as emotional and conduct disorders, can contribute to addiction; and much more.
If our society doesn’t start addressing this epidemic of teen addiction soon, we will lose a significant portion of our next generation.

This was very troubling. These people are knowledgeable about the drug problem because they are immersed in it, treating or trying to help those who are caught up in it, mostly young people who were pushed into it by the system. It’s a crime. The Bible talks about the last days when plagues and disasters keep falling as judgment, but that the judgments made no impression and as the Bible says ‘they would not repent of their sorceries.’ It’s obvious to me that drugging young people, causing permanent stunting of the brains, and then leading them into a life of addiction and early death — ought not to be in America the Beautiful.

I’d like to hear this show, too, but there must have been a technical problem.
