Estimates, Schmestimates! Guesstimates, Too!

Naomi Breslau asked (in Psychological Trauma, a book published by American Psychiatric Press, Inc., in 1998) …

“What is the probability of PTSD [Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder] given exposure to traumatic events?”

Body Dowsing can easily answer this question specifically on an individual basis, disposing of the nebulousness of generalities.

A traumatic event has specific, concrete responses from specific minds and bodies, not a general response from an abstract and statistical “person.”

Body Dowsing is a hands-on way of cutting through the murkiness of psychosomatic generalities.

Naomi Breslau also asked …

“Do events differ with respect to their PTSD-inducing effects?”

Of course they do, and they’re different for specific people, not for statistical people.

Naomi Breslau also asked …

“What events carry the highest risk?”

Body Dowsing can also answer that question, but such estimates aren’t necessary when individual cases can be interpreted in minutes, not weeks, months, years, or not at all.

Naomi Breslau continued …

“Estimates of the conditional risk of PTSD are derived from information on the prevalence of exposure and the proportion of those exposed who meet the criteria for PTSD. Estimates can be calculated for the overall conditional risk of PTSD given exposure to any traumatic event included in the definition of qualifying stressors, or for the conditional risk associated with specific trauma types.”

Body Dowsing dispenses with these “estimates, “criteria,” “overall conditional risks,” “qualifying stressors,” and psychiatry’s perverted conceptions and “calculations” of “specific trauma types.”

Estimates, schmestimates! Guesstimates, too!

Psychiatry’s “specific trauma types” are not specific at all. The phrase is gobbledegook cloaking for additional generalities.

I’m not disparaging Ms. Breslau. She’s just promulgating the academic mumbo jumbo of Western psychiatry.

Garbage in, garbage out.

She’s right on if you subscribe to the world according to the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders).

Body Language is specific, and Body Dowsing is its ultimate interpretation on an individual, one-on-one basis.

Naomi Breslau (“Epidemiology of Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder,” Psychological Trauma, 1998) wrote …

“Estimates of the conditional risk of PTSD associated with any trauma depend in part on the stressor definition. The level of inclusiveness of the stressor criterion indirectly influences the conditional risk of PTSD.”

It goes on & on & on, doesn’t it? And where it stops, nobody knows!

Meanwhile, Body Dowsing cuts through the confusion like a hot knife through butter …
