Body By Science

Body by Science challenges everything you thought you knew about exercise and takes you deep inside your body’s inner workings–all the way down to the single cell–to explain what science now knows about the role of exercise in human health. With the help of medical diagrams and step-by-step photos, exercise scientist Doug McGuff, M.D., and weight-training pioneer John Little present a revolutionary new workout protocol that fully leverages the positive effects of high-intensity, low-frequency weight training, while avoiding the negative effects of traditional aerobic-centric exercise.

By using a proper science-based approach to exercise you can be on your way to achieving the following in as little as 12 minutes a week:

•Build muscle size and strength

•Optimize cardiovascular health

•Ramp up your metabolism

•Lower cholesterol

•Increase insulin sensitivity

•Improve flexibility

•Manage arthritis and chronic back pain

•Build bone density

•Reduce your risk for diabetes, cancer, heart attack, and more

Show Highlights:

This show is one of our more fascinating interviews relating to strength, exercise and muscle building. Jam packed with information, you may want to take notes. Imagine the results from only several minutes a week! We’ve read the book and are putting what we’ve learned into practice with excellent results.

-What does high intensity exercise mean?

-Soreness is not necessarily an indicator of muscle building

-Is there a difference between getting stronger and building muscle?

-A stronger musculature demands much less from the cardiovascular muscles

-There’s a strong indication that intense exercise can prevent cancer

-Drilling down to the source of the disease epidemic

-Distilling exercise down to it’s purest form

-How much protein does the body need?

-The right way to breath; the avoidance of breath holding during exercise

-Is there a downside to going out and running 20 miles a week?

and so much more!!

Wow, great information – this really makes sense to me. I already made an appointment with a gym in NYC that does this type of training. Thank you again!

Thank you for the great interview with Dr. Doug McGuff! I’ve done four ‘Body by Science’ workouts since. I’m so impressed that I ordered the book. I’ve never done anything this effective. Long term compliance isn’t an issue since the workouts are very short and infrequent – only 1 or 2 a week. I don’t think there’s anything like it. Like you said, it gives you more bang for the buck! I would love to hear a follow-up interview with Doug
