Founder of NuGenesis Farm and Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer Survivor
“While battling stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer, infiltrating ductal carcinoma and a high-grade tumor in my head and neck, a dear friend introduced me to the term “anti-angiogenesis,†says Kathy Bero.
After reading scores of research pages and talking at length with scientists and doctors, she began to understand the true role food could play in directly impacting her ability to prevent cancer from re-entering her life. As she began discussing what she had learned with her healthcare providers, she realized this research was not widely understood. This became the impetus for the creation of NuGenesis Farm.
Bero, founder of NuGenesis Farm, Inc., in Pewaukee, says she needs no science-based evidence to know that angiogenesis-based medicine and angiogenic-inhibiting foods were major factors in the remission of the three aggressive forms of cancer – stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer, infiltrating ductal carcinoma, and a high-grade tumor in her head and neck—that threatened her life six years ago.
What Is Angiogenesis?
Angiogenesis is the body’s natural process of growing new blood vessels from pre-existing vessels. It’s a system that is vital for growth, development and healing, and the body controls it by producing a precise balance of growth and inhibitory factors in healthy tissues. An imbalance of angiogenesis—insufficient or excessive growth of blood vessels—is recognized by the medical community as a common denominator underlying health challenges including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, arthritis, some skin diseases, age-related blindness, diabetic ulcers and stroke, among others. The list of diseases that may have angiogenesis as an underlying mechanism grows longer every year.(Read Entire Article)
NuGenesis Farm creates a model of education, sustainable organic agriculture and research that can be replicated worldwide, teaching you how to choose and prepare foods and why those choices help you live your best life. NuGenesis also offers information on foods that impact disease prevention and promote healing.

I am so glad that this guest is doing well & has recovered from the cancers that she had. I’m sure it was very scary especially when you have young children. However, I must comment that in my opinion, some of her comments were a little off. She said that she decided on chemo/radiation because she wanted to fight for her life, which implies people who try natural approaches don’t have the same passion, or you could gleam she was saying that’s the only hope a cancer patient has for recovery. When you asked her about Gerson, she said that because everyone needs fiber that juicing is not really that good for you. Also she seemed to imply that chemo/radiation was been for her even though it left her heart damaged, destroyed her thyroid & I’m sure it destroyed her immune system, which she seems to be doing a good job of rebuilding. But after all that, she still believes in it, I guess because she’s still alive, which is a good point. But I can tell she didn’t really research other alternatives. Oh well!
