My pet peeve is anti-aging experts who are in their forties, thirties, and even twenties.
Most longevity research is either about …
(1) selling anti-aging supplements and manufactured superfoods
… or …
(2) soliciting government grants for underfeeding lab rats
Why don’t these anti-aging jokers ask really, really, really old people how they remain alive and vital?
Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) pointed to an elderly couple while we were eating in a fast-food family restaurant, saying …
“See that couple over there? They don’t have to eat Solar because they have a good attitude.”
Here are two facts about longevity …
(1) Attitude is the most important anti-aging factor.
(2) Human beings are OMNIVORES, and almost any diet – vegan, vegetarian, carnivore, you name it – can prolong youth.
Take the case of Hugh Hefner, now 87 years old.
The Bunny Master drinks up to 30 decaffeinated cans of Diet Pepsi a day.
His favorite drink is Jack Daniels and Pepsi.
He used to take his Pepsi caffeinated.
According to Hef’s Little Black Book, 2001 …
“He [Hefner] is a Pepsi Man. Actually, he is a Pepsi Generation unto himself. Famously, through the sixties, he was photographed swigging from Pepsi bottles; butlers in his homes were always instructed to provide a new bottle if they saw one half empty. Or if he was seen without a Pepsi in his hand they were to immediately fill that hand with a Pepsi bottle. He would drain three dozen bottles a day, caffeinating himself royally. In 1962, it was reported that his annual Pepsi consumption equaled that of a small African country.”
Pay attention, Durianrider, since you denounce caffeine as a neurotoxin. [1]
Hef has a jelly doughnut and half a grapefruit at 11:30 a.m.
He has Lipton’s chicken soup and saltine crackers at 5:30 p.m.
He eats lamb chops or pot roast or fried chicken strips at 10:30 p.m.
He indulges in grilled cheese sandwiches, potato chips, oatmeal cookies, etc. [2]
Hef gave up smoking after his stroke way back in 1985.
Jeanne Louise Calment (1875-1997) lived for 122 years, 164 days.
She smoked from 1896 to 1992. [3]
Ms. Calment credited her long life and relatively youthful appearance to pouring olive oil all over her food and skin, drinking port wine, and eating a kilo (2.2 pounds) of chocolate every week.
Beatrice Wood (1893-1998) lived to 105.
The world-famous “Mama of Dada” credited her long life to “chocolate and young men.”
She was a vegetarian who had numerous sexual liaisons and avoided both cigarettes and alcohol.
Ms. Wood said at a 1978 lecture …
“What is Dada about this lecture is that I know nothing about Dada. I was only in love with men connected with it, which I suppose is as close to being Dada as anything.”
Classical pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982) lived to 95, dying peacefully in his sleep.
He said (according to the New York Times, Nov. 21, 1982) …
“It is said of me that when I was young I divided my time impartially among wine, women and song. I deny this categorically. Ninety percent of my interests were women.”
The 90 year old Rubinstein left his wife for a 33 year old woman, Annabelle Whitestone, and lived with her until he died at 95.
:)
[1] But I admire Durianrider, who boasts on his blog, “Not even 5 lawsuits have shut this blog down.”
[2] The Bunny Master employs 12 chefs to ensure his indulgences.
[3] Jeanne Calment smoked only two cigarettes a day, according to one source.

Great stuff Atom.
Have you studied Peter Ragnar at all? I’m curious what you think of his ideas? He’s definitely in the attitude camp, but he is also a strong advocate of diet/lifestyle, qi-gong, etc., much more so than the above mentioned figures. And do you think Durianrider is legit, or just an arrogant young guy? I find him too arrogant to even follow.
Also, on a separate topic regarding sardines – I remember you in the interviews with Patrick talking about buying them in water vs. olive oil. What is the reason? Do they use a crummy oil mix like cheap olive oil brands that dilute? And wouldn’t the water be crummy tap water with chlorine/fluoride? Any particular brands to avoid? I’ve tried many, but can’t bring myself to buy Bumble Bee for some reason.
Thanks for everything

(1) Peter Ragnar’s attitude is outstanding, but his conception of Qi is way different from mine.
I prefer the conceptions of Master Chen and Swami Nitty-Gritty.
(2) What I like about Durianrider is his sincerity, but his conception of nutrition is different than mine also.
I grok this gem he wrote on his blog …
“I’m 36 and never had a drivers license. I’ve no problems with camping out so I can afford the best quality plant foods. I’ve no problems with washing in a stream or using my bike for transport in NYC, London, Taipei, Sydney or anywhere I need to get from A 2 B. I enjoy the simple lifestyle and enjoy not wasting time and money on meaningless things that just accumulate in ones life and end up owning US!”
(3) Olive oil is neutral, so it makes no difference to me whether my sardines are in water or oil.
I prefer them packed in sild oil, but I haven’t been able to find any for years.
A “sardine” is a wastepaper basket term for any small fish.
“Sardines” are either sild, brislings, pilchards, herring, or other small fish.
Some of them are cold-water fish, and others are warm-water fish.
What you get depends on the season.

Hi Atom, what are good colors (for the words) to use on a banner ad for a health business ?
July 31, 2013 @ 11:58 pm atomb
Re: banner ad for a health business.
(1) Use the color red for the letters, the shade used by construction crews for maximum visibility.
(2) Use a yellow background for even more visibility.
(3) Leave some of the letters unfinished to engage a viewer’s subconscious.
(4) Hang the sign out of square for more subconscious participation.
I did this when I managed Scandia Health Foods, following the instructions of Swami Nitty-Gritty (except for item #4, which I learned from Celeste H. Blair, the Light Bulb Crusher).

(3) Leave some of the letters unfinished to engage a viewer’s subconscious
What do you mean ‘letters unfinished’ ?
(4) Hang the sign out of square for more subconscious participation
You mean make the sign square shape ?

(3) Leave part of the letters uncolored, making it look like the artist walked off the job.
(4) Hang the sign crooked.
Both of these things annoy the perfectionist within people, but lead them into your store.
The most successful restaurants are known as “yuppie boxes.” They do a booming business by making customers feel uncomfortable.
#3 and #4 will make customers feel uncomfortable being outside of your store.
Hopefully, you’ll be attracting healthy people who desire to be comfortable inside your store. :)

i had a bit of a longevity epiphany the other day in line with this idea about attitude. I’m 48 years old and i have been a believer in physical immortality since my early twenties. Still, i caught myself viewing my present and future from a ‘survival’ point of view. I was seeing my health as ‘managed breakdown’ rather than a route to youth.
Since i reconsidered this fundamentally flawed attitude i’d been sporting, i’ve been feeling much better about both present and future. Thing look much brighter now :-)
I can’t wait to enjoy youth with the wisdom and knowledge i missed the first time around.

Managed breakdown is all that can be done with post-Heaven Qi and the Delta brain wave.
Physical regeneration is a matter of pre-Heaven Qi and the Omega brain wave.
I’m still stuck somewhere in the Theta zone, and Dr. Death might be handing me a bill I can’t pay any day now.
No psychology is worth a whit unless it has a remedy for physical death (apologies to Carl Jung).

Wow, that’s a great quote; hadn’t heard that from him before, but I agree whole-heartedly.

It reminds me of Ralph Waldo Emerson writing …
“Things are in the saddle. And ride mankind.”

Atom, attitude means face your stuff and live to live and be happy? If it is I am on that. I´m 50 revolutions now and I want to live a happy life with a lot of love.
Thanks so much <3

Facing our stuff – safely – is the BE-attitude. :)
