Raymond C. Perkins, MD

Medical Director of the ETMC Sleep Disorders Center

Sleep is essential to your physical and mental well being. It is a restorative process that allows you to be healthy and productive. Adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep a night, yet millions suffer from sleep disorders that deprive them of necessary rest. These disorders are more than an annoyance. They may pose significant medical problems such as strain on the heart and lungs that lead to high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke.

Dr. Perkins shared with us some wonderful information about how to get a good nights sleep. Did you know that body temperature may affect how well you sleep? He talks extensively about sleep apnea, snoring and the importance of winding down before bedtime. This is one of our most informative shows on sleep. Enjoy!

    Hey Patrick!
I’m always fascinated by information on sleep.
Thank you so much for the interview.

I just noticed you’ve never had author “t.s. wiley” on the show! Her work on Sleep & Sugar is groundbreaking!

I would love for you to interview her on your show.
    Best,
    -Mark
