A woman told me her right ankle began hurting the previous afternoon.

25 or so people were assembled in the living room of my friends’ house/clinic in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

“What time of the afternoon?” I asked.

“Around 2:00 o’clock. I was all alone in my house, and it just started hurting for no reason.”

“Let me ask you a crazy question. When you think of the pain and the inconvenience, what’s the first color that comes to your mind? Just close your eyes, and let me know what you see.”

“I see red.”

“What woman phoned you and told you she was moving away, so you wouldn’t be able to see her in person anymore?”

“My daughter.” The woman began crying. “She’s moving to another state.”

How did I know about the telephone? I could have lied and told everyone I was psychic.

I guessed.

The woman told me she was alone in her house, so no one came to visit her when her ankle started hurting.

It was the early 1980s (before the Age of the Internet), so the woman could only have been contacted by either mail or by phone.

The right side of the body indicates a woman.

The color red indicates a moving or change of lifestyle trauma.

Also, the ankle is often involved in a moving trauma, as in the slang expression, “I’m going to ankle out of here.”

We were driving east on Richmond Avenue in Houston. Marcia was at the wheel of her car, Adano was riding shotgun, and I was comfortably ensconced in the rear seat.

“Adano,” I queried. “Someone in El Paso wanted me to ask you a question. Why are red cars involved in more traffic accidents than other cars?”

Adano answered my question with a question (as he was prone to do), “How can you tell which cars are moving the fastest?”

“Uhhh,” was my brilliant reply when nothing came to mind.

“Well, LOOK at the traffic. What do you SEE?” Adano persisted.

I made several inaccurate guesses before Adano said, “The fastest cars use their BRAKES more.”

“Oh!” I interrupted before he finished his line of reasoning. “The red brake lights are harder to see on red cars. So they’re more likely to get hit from behind.”

Well, as Swami Nitty-Gritty put it, “Change is another opportunity to test your love,” so that’s close to being symbolic of love. :)

Check out my latest (December 24, 2013) blog entry, “The Spermal Race Is the First ‘Change of Lifestyle’ Trauma” for some insights on your question.

    Hi Atom,
I am opening a health detox business, 5 private villas in a natural surrounding.
What is the best descriptive word to use for success, a resort or a retreat ? or another word ?

    • December 27, 2013 @ 12:32 am atomb

My take is “resort” is a higher choice because “retreat” is the opposite of “advance.” :)

What about then advertising the words Weight Loss. It has the word ‘loss’ in it. Would you think this is a negative word to use in a business ? What other word could be used ?
