The Healing Properties of Flowers

Flowers are pleasing to the eye, but what if they were also healing and uplifting to the mind, body, and spirit?

Lifestyle expert, feng shui consultant, and popular author Tess Whitehurst says they are. As she discusses in her new book, The Magic of Flowers, each blossom possesses a unique healing energy and wisdom. She further explains that we can tune into this unique healing wisdom in a number of ways, from the simple (such as gazing at and communing with a flower) to the decorative (such as bringing a bouquet or stem into your home) to the advanced (such as employing a flower essence or aromatherapeutic oil).

Tess shared a number of fun and useful tips, such as:

-How a bouquet of roses can help open your heart to love

-How planting hydrangeas can help you feel safer in your home

-How chamomile blossoms can help soften harshness and soothe stress

-How the scent of lavender can help you release guilt and forgive yourself

-The healing powers of carnations

In addition to authoring the mega-popular Magical Housekeeping and the brand new Magic of Flowers, Tess has authored three other books as well as numerous articles about living a magical, joyful, and empowered life. Her work has appeared such places as Llewellyn’s Annuals, Law of Attraction Magazine, Whole Life Times, and Writer’s Digest, and she’s appeared on morning news shows on both Fox and NBC, as well as on the Bravo TV show Flipping Out.
