The Therapeutic State

According to Thomas Szasz (1920-2012) …

“Never mind that the term ‘terminally ill’ is dangerously elastic; that suicide is illegal, prohibited by the mental health law of every one of the fifty states; or that because suicide is illegal, it cannot be ‘assisted,’ it can only be ‘accompliced.’ These are but minor roadblocks retarding our triumphant march toward the full realization of the Therapeutic State. ‘Even if the treatment is painful, even if it is life-long, even if it is fatal, that’ — mocked [C.S.] Lewis — ‘will be only a regrettable accident; the intention was purely therapeutic.'”

Ivan Illich (Medical Nemesis, 1973, 1974) wrote …

“Once a society organizes for a preventive disease-hunt, it gives epidemic proportions to diagnosis. This ultimate triumph of therapeutic culture turns the independence of the average healthy person into an intolerable form of deviance.”

<>

According to Mikhail Bakunin (1814-1876) …

“If there is a State, then there is domination, and in turn, there is slavery.”

<>

According to George Carlin (1937-2008) …

“Whenever I hear someone lives in a gated community, I think of places like Auschwitz.”

According to Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) …

“Living to Live doesn’t have time. Living to Die sets up time. Living to Live is equilibrium — bones and muscles start to rearrange themselves the moment you accept living to live. Living to Live is ‘the Word’ — you hear the ‘I’ in you, the living Word, or the Audible Life Stream. We become free as God in everybody.”

Calories don’t matter if you know what you’re doing.

    We’re not steam engines.

I can eat all the calories I choose without gaining a pound, and so can you if you stop being a willing victim of Medical Nemesis.

Minerals and trace minerals are lacking in the soil but not in the food.

No one would buy a nutrient-deficient fruit or veggie ’cause they look really, really sick.

Consult any book similar to Rodale’s Ultimate Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening for examples of nutrient-lacking plant diseases.

No supermarket could sell any of them!

It’s the farmer that takes the hit unless he’s a no-till farmer who never has a problem with minerals, trace minerals, or water (except in the form of hail, of course).

Aren’t there any farmers on the internet?
