Re: I love early nights, 8:00 p.m. in bed, sometimes even earlier.
I studied with a Swami who didn’t sleep and urged us to avoid it too.
So every time I do, it’s just another failure in a long line of failures.
Masters need no sleep, but their students do.

Re: I don’t know, man, the physical body needs rest. Consciousness can go on and on but not the body.
Not if you Master sleep.
Matter acting on Matter is the hardest level to Master.
Anyone can go through walls in their astral body (Energy acting on Matter), but it’s a challenge to do it in the form of Precipitate Matter.
How can you “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” all of the time” if you’re asleep at the wheel?
Adano Ley was holding Satsang in Flagstaff, Arizona.
I was in a rear side seat, in the darker shadows just outside the living room where he sat.
“Just how does Adano manage to stay awake all the time?” I silently brooded, fighting fatigue and sleepiness. “I’ve got to learn how to do it!”
A wave of anger engulfed me, dissipating my drowsiness, prompting a new thought: “Maybe it has something to do with adrenaline?”
Adano turned to face me — his thoughts had been interrupted by mine.
He beamed a winning smile: “Ah! My brother back there is trying to figure out how I stay awake all the time. Don’t worry, you’ll figure it out.”

According to Using English dot com …
“If someone is asleep at the wheel, they are not doing their job or taking their responsibilities very carefully. ‘Asleep at the switch’ is an alternative.”
