Time Conscious Eating
Atom Bergstrom, born Gosta Ingvar Bergstrom, Jr, is credited as the founder of Sun Sync and the leading expert on a Sun-Centric lifestyle. Atom’s journey towards health, nutrition, longevity, and meditation goes back to 1955, when he first started reading books by D.C. Jarvis, J.I. Rodale, Carlton Fredericks, Adelle Davis, Aldous Huxley, Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Prabhavananda, and numerous others. His exposure to the above mentioned authors instigated a deep desire and passion to understand and unlock the secrets to optimal human wellness and longevity. Atom was inspired by the words of Thomas Jefferson: “School teaches all of the branches, but none of the roots.†He sought the answers to his questions, not in classrooms, but in books, relationships, and life experiences. His quest for true knowledge and wisdom began by studying in hundreds of libraries across the country and evolved by studying with teachers and masters including Swami Adano Ley, Sufi Adnan Sarhan, Rabbi Michael Shapiro, Taoist Master Yun Xiang Tseng, and Fitness Icon Gypsy Boots. His most significant teacher was Swami Adano Ley with whom he spent 14 years. During this time, he studied a variety of sciences extensively, including the sun centric lifestyle, and ultimately graduated from Adano Ley’s Texas Institute of Reflex Sciences. The knowledge and wisdom he gained studying under a highly evolved swami combined with his emphasis on scientific research & personal experience would soon become the heartbeat of Sun Sync Nutrition. For the past 40 years, Atom has dedicated his life to the continuous learning and teaching of Sun Sync Nutrition, Time Conscious Eating, Cosmo-Chemistry, Reflexology, Muscle Response Testing, Body Language Analysis, Iris Analysis, Lucid Dreaming, Meditation and many other sciences.

Here’s more information for Robert about the Oxygen Paradox. (I also blogged about it at Atom’s Blog — Pure Oxygen Blitzes the Brain, Sept. 10, 2018.)
<>
Kelvin J. A. Davies, Ph.D. (“The Oxygen Paradox, Oxidative Stress, and Ageing,” Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Apr. 1, 2016) wrote …
“Simply stated, the Oxygen Paradox proposes that although Oxygen is essential for aerobic beings, it is also inherently dangerous to the very same lifeforms; in other words, it is very difficult to live without Oxygen, but it is also very difficult to live with Oxygen.”
<>
Anders Olsson (“Carbon dioxide controls breathing,” Conscious Breathing, Mar. 6, 2015) wrote …
“The level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in our body is what controls your breathing. When carbon dioxide reaches a certain level, a signal is sent from the breathing center in your brain stem to the breathing muscles, which triggers an inhalation. Upon exhalation, we exhale carbon dioxide and a new breathing cycle starts.”
According to the same source …
“Carbon dioxide forces the oxygen to leave the blood so it can enter into our muscles and organs and be of use. This is called the Bohr effect, after it’s Danish discoverer, Christian Bohr.”
<>
According to Wikipedia (last edited Aug. 8, 2018) …
“The Bohr effect enables the body to adapt to changing conditions and makes it possible to supply extra oxygen to tissues that need it the most.”
According to the same source ..,
“Carbon dioxide is not the only molecule that can trigger the Bohr effect. If muscle cells aren’t receiving enough oxygen for cellular respiration, they resort to lactic acid fermentation, which releases lactic acid as a byproduct. This increases the acidity of the blood far more than CO2 alone, which reflects the cells’ even greater need for oxygen. In fact, under anaerobic conditions, muscles generate lactic acid so quickly that pH of the blood passing through the muscles will drop to around 7.2, which causes haemoglobin to begin releasing roughly 10% more oxygen.”

Lactic acid? Isn’t that the stuff Otto Warburg warned us about?

You were talking about coffee, I was told once by an old chiropractor that caffeine causes inflammation. He told the story of walking into a cafe and seeing all of these old men sitting around drinking coffee and talking about the drugs they take for pain/inflammation. All they had to do was stop the caffeine and the pain would subside. I tried this and it took about 2 weeks for it to completely leave my body, but it actually works.
About a month ago, I was drinking the very yummy cobalamin tonics…I ended up with bursitis pain in both hips. I had to stop the tonics. Very sad. But the pain has left my body.

In general. coffee drinkers have longer and healthier lifespans, less obesity, less cardiovascular disease, less Alzheimer’s disease, less Parkinson’s disease, less type 2 diabetes, less cancer, 40% less gout, better mental health, and earn more money.
That said, Anything Can Cause Anything and Anything Can Cure Anything, so food intolerances and allergies can be triggered from almost any food or herb or drug.
Inflammation indicates a problem (for example, an acid-base imbalance, an endocrine imbalance, a Cognitive Shock, etc.), so avoidance is generally a smart thing to do.
Some “coffee” issues can be traced to fluoridated water, suce as a 1% increase in bladder cancer that was once blamed on coffee.

Atom, I loved your information about putting foods, especially mushrooms, out in the sun (and then eating them) to obtain a truly natural form of vitamin D. Questions: If I cook them after that, will I lose the vitamin D or do I need to eat the food raw after exposure to sun? Also, if I put the food (cooked or uncooked) in the refrigerator after sun exposure, is the vitamin D stable enough to last a while? Thanks! Ellen

Re: If I cook them after that, will I lose the vitamin D or do I need to eat the food raw after exposure to sun?
Some vitamin D will be lost in the cooking process, depending on what method is used.

Re: If I put the food (cooked or uncooked) in the refrigerator after sun exposure, is the vitamin D stable enough to last a while?
Much of the vitamin D is lost by the end of a month, depending on the food and the temperature, and the way the food is stored.

Atom, Regarding the 2 quarts of coffee and 8 oz of sugar you took to ward off the flu/a cold: Does the coffee need to be black only or is it ok to add organic milk or nut milk? Also, how do you take the sugar? In the coffee (I hope)? And do you take this all at once? Also, if you could explain a little more how this works, I would appreciate it.

Re: Does the coffee need to be black only or is it ok to add organic milk or nut milk?
Sugar has been used as medicine for thousands of years, probably first in ancient China.
But I’ve never heard of anyone using coffee and sugar for the flu before, but it certainly was effective, and I drank it with maple syrup and cocoa in the morning and refined white sugar at midday and night.
But there were nuts in my stomach along with the Cobalamin Tonic in the morning, and cheese in my stomach along with the coffee and tablespoons of sugar in the afternoon, so adding cow milk or nut milk probably wouldn’t make any difference.

Re: How do you take the sugar? In the coffee (I hope)? And do you take this all at once?
I take it mostly in the coffee, drinking it throughout the day as long as I was threatened by the flu.
As soon as I started to back off, flu symptoms showed up, so I continued drinking about two quarts of sweetened coffee a day for more than a week.

Re: If you could explain a little more how this works, I would appreciate it.
I’m speculating, but I think short bursts of sugar (for seven days or so) activate the thyroid gland and prevent lactic acid from accumulating.
Sugar has been used to heal wounds and neutralize snake venom and life-threatening allergic reactions.
