(1) Do bench presses with the head higher than the chest at Stomach Time (7:00-9:00 a.m.).

The upper pectoralis muscles link to the Stomach Meridian.

(2) Do a variety of abdominal exercises – crunches, sit-ups, curl-ups, reverse sit-ups, leg-ups, leg-overs, vacuums, belly dancing, etc. – at Small Intestine Time (1:00-3:00 p.m.).

A Word to the Wise: Small Intestine Time is the worse time for “intense” or “heavy” exercise, so moderation is important.

Abdominal exercises for “external” core muscle strength – compared to “internal” core muscle and organ strength – are best done at Spleen-Pancreas Time (9:00-11:00 a.m.) or at Urinary Bladder Time (3:00-5:00 p.m.).

(3) Do Kegels and reverse Kegels at Circulation-Sex Time (7:00-9:00 p.m.).

(4) Do bench presses with the head lower than the chest at Liver Time (1:00-3:00 a.m.).

The lower pectoralis muscles link to the Liver Meridian.

(5) Pass gas – yawn and fart – as many times a day and night as possible.

Oxygen – combined with nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur – protects against hernias.

A bowel movement before 9:00 a.m. helps prevent hernias.

(6) Regarding susceptibility to hernias, Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty) advised …

“Don’t get Rolfed until you clean up the colon.”

He recommended eating almonds, pine nuts, and kiwi for a hernia during Liver Time (1:00-3:00 a.m.).
