Wiggs Dannyboy & Flower Power

Re: What did you think of consciousness researcher Tony Wright’s ideas about the hormone-rich sex-organs of flowering plants, especially those of the forest?

His ideas relate to Swami Nitty-Gritty’s three Growth Zones of Solar Nutrition and Wiggs Dannyboy’s Theory of Consciousness Evolution.

Growth Zone 1 refers to TREES and the floral brain, “empathetic telepathy.”

Growth Zone 2 refers to VINES and the mammalian brain, “civilized debate.”

Growth Zone 3 refers to ROOTS and the reptilian brain, “hostile confrontation.”

Tom Robbins (Jitterbug Perfume, 1984) wrote …

“As the age of reptiles was drawing to a close, the first flowers and mammals appeared. Marcel LeFever believes that the flowers actually eliminated the great reptiles. Mammals also may have contributed to their egress (not ‘exit’), because for many early mammals there was nothing quite like a couple of dinosaur eggs for breakfast.”

According to the same source …

“LeFever has postulated that the neocortex is an expanded memory bank, and it certainly possesses that capability. Robert Bly thinks that it is connected somehow to light. If the reptile brain equates with cold and the mammal brain with warmth, then the neocortex equates with light. Bly’s hunch makes a lot of sense because the third brain is a floral brain and flowers extract energy from light.”

According to the same source …

“With an increased floral consciousness, humans will begin to make full use of their ‘light brain’ and to make more refined and sophisticated use of their ‘smell brain.’ The two are portentously linked. In fact, they overlap to such an extent that they may be considered inseparable.

“We live now in an information technology. Flowers have always lived in an information technology. Flowers gather information all day. At night, they process it. This is called photosynthesis.”

To build shape or form or cellular structure out of solar radiation, plant life has evolved three different geometries to process radiant energy …

      1) tree

      2) vine/bush/grass

      3) root

These are known by forest ecologists as …

      1) canopy

      2) understory,

      3) floor/subfloor

I’ve read every book by Tom Robbins except two!

Jitterbug Perfume is my favorite, and Still Life With Woodpecker comes in second!

Atom, why so you shy away from the god argument now? Do you feel SNG helped in this, as in, ‘ spirituality is practicality?’

“Therefore Moses saw and saw not. He saw, that he might be exalted; he saw not, that he might not be injured. For by that which he saw, his lowliness was exalted; and by that which he saw not, his weakness was not blinded. As also our eyes look upon the sun and look not upon it; and by what they see are assisted; and by what they see not, are uninjured.” — Saint Gregory the Dialogist

If, ‘god made man in the image of god,’ that is the holographic universe, (maya), then why the interest in the chemistry and biology!?

you wrote sunflower seeds consciously follow the sun, and these contain a fair amount of lithium, known to increase gray matter (in the frontal lobes?). lithium is also known to be pacifying in a good way, but sunflowers also contain lecithin, which i find pretty nice even on its own. do you ever recommend consuming lecithin as is, or is bee pollen or perhaps eggs better? soy lecithin gets a bad rep in some circles but my digestion runs very nicely on it and i feel less anger (the gall buffer + added white myelination?). soy is a bean so it should carry a different wavelength of consciousness than flowers and their seeds i guess.

also, bacopa is a vine that’s appreciated for it’s positive effect on social skill and cognition, which somewhat confirms nitty gritty’s theory. i’m always happy to see his ideas confirmed in other places. what other vines are there besides grapes to eat? my imagination falls short of that one.

thank you for a good blog entry-

Lecithin was first isolated from egg yolk,

Lekithos is ancient Greek for egg yolk.

Egg yolk is an evening Growth Zone 3 food, and that’s why it works against AIDS.

Growth Zone 3 marine lecithin is extracted from fish, shrimp, krill, algae, plankton, etc.

All three Growth Zones provide lecithin — morning lecithin for the brain, midday lecithin for the spleen, and evening lecithin for the liver and genitals …

Growth Zone 1 — pistachios, almonds

Growth Zone 2 — soy oil, sunflower oil, corn oil.

Growth Zone 3 — eggs, peanuts, seafood.

Growth Zones 1, 2, and 3 — a happy liver (our primary source of lecithin).

Excess lecithin or lecithin eaten at the “wrong” time of day can cause “lecithin spleen.”

i forgot in what category you place bush foods. rooibos (and camilla sinensis?) are bushes i find pleasing on the palate and mind. are these considered vines?

Midday includes vines, bushes, and grasses.

Vines are emblematic of Growth Zone 2 (midday) because of their circular growth motion.

Growth Zone 1 energy strives upwards, Growth Zone 3 energy strives downwards, and Growth Zone 2 energy is central (at the navel).

Some tall bushes classify as Growth Zone 1, but the main difference between a tree and a bush is a tree usually has one trunk and a bush more than one.

“The sex force is not life force. The sex force is a function of life force, and we misconstrue and say that when a person is indulging in sex he is wasting his life force. To some degree he is wasting certain body chemicals by wrong use of it, but wrong storage would produce the adverse condition.” — Swami Nitty-Gritty

atom, what do you know about kali and what she brings to the life of an individual? i have an interest in her various expressions but have also heeded caution in engaging that particular area. i would love your input and what various masters you’ve encounntered have said about the dark female aspect in general. thank you as always.

Kali IS Time, so Solar Nutrition definitely deals with Time and Timing..

Kali is not only the Goddess of Blood; she’s the Goddess of Blood Circulation.

Men fear her and misrepresent her as the Goddess of the Thugs, and associate her with cunning and deception.

Time Travel is extremely rare during the Kali Yuga.

Kali is often associated with Tantra, but true Tantra is uninhibited and not hampered by rules, regulations, and rituals.

Western Tantra is a perfect example of how men can muck up good old-fashioned lust due to fear of losing control.

That’s why “traditional” Tantra started in the Aryan graveyards of India, while historical Tantra was more ancient and started in non-Aryan outdoor bedrooms.

Doing “it” on a grassy field (yesterday’s lawn) is still acknowledged as “giving her the green gown.”

According to Swami Nitty-Gritty, “Adam is reason, the inductive nature of yourself, the rational damming up of forces to use flow. It can become combustible. Eve is emotion and combustion. What good is static electricity if you can’t USE it? Creating is sex release.”

He also said, “Adam is a dam [a-dam]. Eve is the eyes and nose. Adam is the forehead, butting your head against the wall.”

Eve symbolizes the “positive” side of Kali, and Lilith the “negative” side.

Eve relates to The Rolling Stones singing, “You may not always get what you want. But if you try sometimes you just might find. You get what you need.”

Lilith relates to Bob Dylan singing, “Your debutante just knows what you need. But I know what you WANT.”

Kali dancing on her consort Shiva (a woman on top) is just too much for conservative male minds to handle …

thank you for the elaboration! i’m mostly vegan so maybe my light iron intake makes me less ‘of the blood’ and also less receptive to the heart level of time and syncing. seems to me the fear of kali is a fear of both the nourishing darkness and general femininity then.

after all, at the start of the western mind, cronos, the greek god of time, devoured his own children. which seems far worse than dancing on men on a battlefield.

Kali has nothing on Saturn, a Western version of Time.

NOW seems to be the only safe harbor.

Ha! I’ve been working my way through your podcasts and blogs Atom, (taking copious notes) and started to think of Jitterbug Perfume. I was planning to recommend it to you, as it’s probably my favourite of Tom Robbins (and possibly all works of fiction I’ve read), then I came across your references to it! I love the ideas in his books and I suppose he got inspiration from some of the spiritual peeps you refer to from the 60s & 70s? Hugs, Lynne (AKA Holly Toledo)

Yep, I’m a big fan of Tom Robbins. :)

Swami Nitty-Gritty used to say he was The Chink, a major character in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.

            Maybe. :)

One of Nitty-Gritty’s Texas students went to Washington state for two meetings with Tom Robbins.

An aspiring writer, she was impressed by his graciousness and easy accessibility.
