Folks with heartburn are often weakened by the color GREEN – including wearing green clothes, eating green food, wearing green-tinted sunglasses, etc.
A simple muscle response test – nonspecific applied kinesics – will confirm or deny this.
Green – as an ECC (Engrammic Code Color) – is associated with annoyance, envy, exasperation,and/or resentment.
Heartburn in women is often associated with MEN-struation and MEN-opause.
It’s been known for well over 100 years that annoyance often causes bile to defy gravity and be retropulsed back up into the stomach.
It’s easy for fat to do this because it’s lighter – less dense – than water. (See all my previous entries regarding BLOAT.)
Heartburn is NOT caused by hyperacidity – it’s caused by PRESSURE dynamics.
Baking soda relieves heartburn by initiating a belch reflex, NOT by neutralizing acid.
Numerous folks with heartburn and subacid stomachs were given baking soda to prove this conclusively.
In fact, the more “burn” in the heartburn, the more likely the offending fluid has originated in the alkaline duodenum.
Indigestion is often mistaken for hunger – something I first learned from Swami Nitty-Gritty – and often folks with heartburn swallow air in an attempt to “scratch” the irritation.
They’re aerophagic not as a psychiatric syndrome, but for a practical reason – relief from suffering.
Unfortunately, the pressure they seek to release is often coming from the splenic flexure – left colic flexure – and can only be released by farting, NOT by belching.
Caution: Taking baking soda has been the cause of many a heart attack. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to a cup of vinegar to see WHY.

Atom,
How then will you suggest to prepare the baking soda to counter heartburn? I know one should take a lot of caution. I gave me dog some in his water, and he vomited till …..

Baking soda is counterproductive.
Back pressure is the usual cause of heartburn.
The pressure can arise from as far away as the pelvis or vermiform appendix (which shares a common neurolymphatic reflex with the left ovary in a woman).
Relief is more closely related to burping a baby than to antacids – or any form of chemistry.
Heartburn is relieved by direct pressure (osmotic pressure) or by diffusion (reflexology or acupressure).
I’d like to cover this more extensively the next time Patrick interviews me. :)
