Is Red Really Red?

Re: Don’t get too white in the morning. Morning sun is nice and warm for a while, and that may have some benefits, too. Getting a strong “it’s noon” signal in the morning may not be quite optimal.

Good advice! Notice how the shadows are green at sunrise and sunset? That’s because red light is predominant. Check out the “green flash” at sunset too if you’re at the right location.

Philippe Brou, Thomas R. Sciascia, Lynette Linden, & Jerome Y. Lettvin (“The Colors of Things: Color ‘illusions devised (for the first time) on the display screen of a computer are evidence that color is not perceived just by sensing the light from individual surfaces in a scene,” Scientific American, Sept. 1986) wrote ….

“Color, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.”

“The curve for the sun at eight degrees was measured about half an hour before sunset. The peak in the spectrum of diffuse daylight then occurs at roughly 660 nanometers, or deep in the red part of the spectrum. Hours earlier, when the sun is high in the sky, at 70 degrees, the peak is at wavelengths some 200 nanometers shorter, or well into the blue part of the spectrum.”

Goethe was right about the above. Newton wasn’t. Newton looked *AT* the prism. Goethe looked *THROUGH* it.

Or was it Newton’s followers, and not Newton himself, who took the extreme view?

According to Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1726) …

“And whenever I seem to speak of radiation or rays, coloured or imbued with colour, I should like it always so expressed that it does not sound philosophical or special, but intelligible to the general public; since those ideas are accepted which people, watching experiments of this kind, can themselves comprehend. Indeed, rays properly expressed, are not coloured. There is nothing else in them but a certain power or disposition which so conditions them that they produce in us the sensation of this or that colour.”

Do we go to a therapist to get colored of a trauma? Or opaque of a trauma?

We go to get CLEAR of a trauma.

Maya (relativity) is thinking color is something it’s not.

William Seaman Bainbridge, M.D. (The Cancer Problem, 1918) wrote …

“The materials employed, for which we are indebted to Mr. B.T. Fairchild, who cooperated with Dr. Beard [1858-1924], were as follows: (1) Holadin capsule, a pancreas gland extract containing all the pancreatic enzymes — trypsin, amylopsin, and lipase — and the milk-curdling ferments. This was given to aid digestion. (2) ‘Pepule’ oxgall compound, which contains inspissated oxgall, extractum pancreatis, and extract of nux vomica. The object of this was to give tone to the bowel and to aid elimination. (3) Lotio pancreatis, a glycerin extract prepared directly from the fresh gland and carrying in solution the entire soluble gland constituents. This solvent of broken-down tissue was applied topically to the ulcerating surfaces. (4) Injectio trypsini, a glycerin extract of trypsin which, according to Beard, was supposed to ‘kill’ cancer cells. (5) Injectio amylopsini, a glycerin extract of amylopsin, which was thought to ‘digest’ the dead cancer cells.”
