    Hello The Amazing Atom,

    I’m going through the “butterflies’ books I got from you. You mention the Mighty Atom in a number of places; I am particularly interested in what breathing and strength exercises he did at lung time? I am asking as to get my little one to do them (he’s currently the tiniest kid in class and we need to find physical and spiritual solutions).
    Would you be able to guide me as to what breathing and strength exercises to do? Also, is that detailed in the Greenstein book you refer to?

      Some of them, but only in person. I’m not a strongman.

      The breathing exercises were not described in Ed Spielman’s book, but pandiculation (yawning while stretching) is probably as good or better.

      The strongman “Champion Volenko” gave Joe (Yosselle) only one exercise to repeat over and over again during Lung Time (3:00-5:00 a.m.).

      Joe lifted two buckets filled with sand.

      Volenko added a handful of sand to each bucket every day.

      But Volenko advised Joe, “Yosselle, to be a man is not about muscles. These things impress you now. But in the scheme of things, it’s hardly a beginning. Strength of character you don’t get with a pair of buckets.”

      When the traveling circus reached India from Poland, “The Great Gama,” probably the greatest wrestler who ever lived and who never lost a single match in his entire career, taught The Mighty Atom more exercises and breath-control skills.

      Gama also taught Joe how to wrestle trees, assuring him if you could win against a tree, a man was easy.

          The Mighty Atom used will power (nitrogen plus hydrogen) to perform his feats.

          He could even temporarily transfer it to others, e.g., by touching someone so they could themselves bend a horseshoe.

          Butterflies Have No Taxidermist contains a LOT about will power, including its will power’s eight stages.

    Losing floods the brain with neurotoxic endorphins and enkephalins.

    Endorphins, enkephalins, and other opioid agonists cause brain damage and rigidity of the neck and back muscles.

    Because humans lose from time to time, opioid agonists are a secondary and compensatory reward (along with serotonin).

    Dopamine and the proper mixture of catecholamines are consciousness-elevating chemicals.

    Dependence on endorphin “highs” are consciousness-depressing and lead to an addiction to losing – the “limbo-stick game.”

    Endorphins lead to what Swami Nitty-Gritty called “stone Buddha meditation” or “sit-ta meditation” – sit on the ass and don’t do anything

    The East knows endorphin-state people as “MASTS,” who are in a state of pseudo-God consciousness.

    Meher Baba (1894-1969) wrote extensively on masts, and many fakirs are examples of masts.

    Consciousness evolves from the sympathetic nervous system, with the sympathetic nervous system as a built-in retreat (and treat) from “too much actuality.”

    This is general information, not a prescription or personal advice.

    Was the parasite purge I mentioned black walnut hulls in the morning, pumpkin seeds at midday, and tequila before bedtime?

    If so, it’s done for at least thirty days – a Lunar Cycle plus a day or so – to make sure the “eggs” don’t hatch either.

    Swami Nitty-Gritty advised a full cup of pumpkin seeds the first three days, then a half cup thereafter.

    There’s a possibility of stopping the heart if the above limit of pumpkin seeds is exceeded.

    It’s your highest choice to have your professional health adviser or (at the very least) a friend nearby to monitor you if you attempt this purge.

    I don’t know if this purge got rid of any parasites the one time I did it, but the pumpkin seeds did wonders for my prostate gland.

      Almonds, pine nuts, avocados, an umeboshi plum, and basmati rice topped with olive oil and a tiny pinch of cayenne pepper.

      Or …

      Black glutinous rice in coconut juice and palm syrup.
