M-E-D-I-T-A-T-I-O-N (Part 2)
According to Adano Ley (Swami Nitty-Gritty, a.k.a. the Kit Carson of the Aquarian Age) …
“Structure is first. Meditation, confession, and recycling are modalities.”
“Meditation at Pericardium Time leads to a bigger appetite. You don’t get upset easily, and you desire to read and research. British diplomats use 7:00 p.m. to make other diplomats make concessions.”
“We cannot think without words. Our desires are couched in the form of words. The word triggers a geometric form of repulsion or attraction. In essence, desires arise with words emitted from the throat. The key result of meditation is the reduction of cravings. How? By the slowing down of the brain, a lessening rate of desire-word-image complexes.”
“The body is increasing in size and age. Meditation seems frivolous compared to this. If this immortal soul is taken care of by a mortal body, I think you got a lousy deal.”
“Nobody hurts you but yourself. That’s Living to Die.”
“There’s only one opportunity that is greater than being born in a human body on planet Earth — sticking around in a human body forever. My DNAs and RNAs are set up to give me butterflyhood. Instead of living to die, I prefer living to live, and I can only live now.”
“Living to Die is thinking. Living to Live is doing.”
“Circum-Process Living is spontaneous intuitive living. Point-to-point mathematical constriction is logical and limited living. The intrinsic overflow of time explains how everything falls into place and you still have overflow.”
“Air is cosmic income from God. There’s no counterfeit air. The air is pressurized into us as an incoming process. We have two hours and forty minutes of incoming breath during meditation — two hours to breathe and forty minutes to crap.”
“Cosmic Life Insurance is the confidence in the security of your insecurity. Regenerative peace is not the same as sedative peace. Regenerative peace is like burning a haystack to find a needle.”
“We have to reach unto the Fifth Level where the Christ Consciousness meets us. God meets us halfway. Much of the beginning work is our own, but then a friend comes to aid us the rest of the way.”
“Mankind is presently moving from the Heart Chakra to the Throat Chakra. The householder has to be spiritualized for the first time.”
“Gurdjieff achieved Realm Four, Cosmic Consciousness, the ‘Fourth Way.'”
“The bagpipe works on eight different levels. The Sikhs and Scots used bagpipes.”
“The bagpipe is the doorbell to God’s house.”
“During the long years of meditation, we are climbing the bottom rungs of Jacob’s Ladder, the initial four steps of the Eight-Fold Path. We are always in Cosmic Cruise-O-Matic though we may not realize this until later. Self-Realization occurs at the halfway point, but this is to be distinguished from God-Realization.”
“Your brain has four speeds. Beta is stick shift, or the chemical level. Alpha is automatic, or electrical. Theta is Cruise-O-Matic, or magnetic. Delta is hand-controlled automatic-Cruise-O-Matic. It takes alpha to decipher, and theta to live up to what you say.”
“Before we are initiated, the Auric Web is very vulnerable, and there is where entities or disembodied beings can come in, and we have what is called mediumistic studies. People become very mediumistic and have entities coming through them and talking to them. At best, that is as far as they can go. Now we have this in the story of the Witch at Endor, when Saul went to her to make contact with Samuel, a realized man, and Samuel rebuked Saul for doing such a thing, for stooping to such a low level of consciousness. No realized man will come through the body of a medium. Once he has realized God to the fullest, he could not come to that level of making communication with another human being.”
“Yogananda said, ‘If anyone ever channels me, it’s not me.'”
“An Avatar is a Cosmic Security Guard and Spiritual Nursemaid.”

According to Swami Nitty-Gritty …

According to Sathya Sai Baba …
“A donkey clothed in a tiger skin does not become a tiger. Imitation is a sign of cowardice. It cannot further one’s progress. In fact the tendency to imitate leads man down, step by step, into frightful shape. You must endeavor to uplift yourselves, as yourselves.”

A psychiatrist went on his first duck hunt but refused to fire.
He explained, “They look like ducks and they sound like ducks, but do they perceive themselves as ducks?”

Have we really all gotten it wrong in terms of weight control. Is Co2 and Oxygen really the culprits. Do all these fat people really need to yawn and laugh and scream and fart more? Is that it? Do you deal with calories at all or even consider them?

Calories have little to do with weight gain or loss.
A student of Master Chen (Yun Xiang Tseng) told me the following story …
He was astonished to see Chen put away plate after plate after plate of food.
Chen read his mind and told him …
“I don’t shit. I turn it all into Qi.”

Nice. I still should finish Chen’s book. Got in about halfway, just need to find my way out.

Hi Atom, I’ve always experienced a huge, tear-inducing emotional upwelling when I hear bagpipes. I thought it might be because of my Scottish & French ancestry, but perhaps not… I recently heard this French naval pipe band when they came to my city and their more melodic sound had an even stronger effect than the Scottish style. Your dislike of bagpipes may have something to do with the delta brain wave.
Or you may have made a childhood “Pavlovian” association with bagpipes, indicating a Cognitive Shock (engram).
Body Dowsing would find the specific cause.
Listening to The Prism-er of Love (Sonic Colonic) is similar to listening to bagpipe music …

Sorry Atom, I wasn’t clear, I meant I LOVE bagpipes :) The Prismer of love is great too! Do you think the following song might be delta wave inducing? It feels as though it might… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb2HBDxqwIg

I doubt it, but it sounds great.
It’s OK to groove on alpha, beta, and theta brain waves too! :) :) :)

Do you get the ‘frisson’ effect when listening to some music Atom? One of my fave pieces for this, and a generally ‘uplifted feeling (in addition to bagpipes), is Bach’s St John Passion Pts 1 1 and 2 38 (not nec at 1/4 time ;) ) Coincidentally I was just looking up the frisson effect, as I was wondering if it’s associated with a particular brain wave state, and came across a very interesting article ( http://theconversation.com/why-do-only-some-people-get-skin-orgasms-from-listening-to-music-59719 ) which lists Pt 1 1 of St JP as one of 5 pieces of music known to elicit this effect! ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlLmI3m1DnU ) For me the last part has a stronger effect though: ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUkA1T4PPg8&list=PLiJnN4bTWJ101LXkHMQ-gcsKJEPE-1loP&index=38 )
There’s some really fascinating info under the ‘Role of Personality’ heading. Do you think frisson indicates a particular BW state Atom?

Re: Frisson Effect.
I get the frisson effect from my favorite songs and rock & roll movies (Roadracers, Streets of Fire, etc.).
Roller coaster rides, narrow escapes, and meditation do it too.
It’s an alpha brain wave reveler headed in the direction of the editorial brain wave office of theta.
“Although it is worth knowing that musical ‘chills’ are neurologically akin to the responses invoked by sex or drugs, an approach that cannot distinguish Bach from barbiturates is surely limited,” according to Philip Ball in Nature News.
