Off-grid living is frowned on by the Surveillance State.

In 2019, the Cali-fool-ya government sweet talked people into going solar with promises, promises, promises …
“The California Solar Initiative (CSI) is a solar rebate program for California residents who purchase their power service from one of the state’s main investor-owned suppliers: Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E); Southern California Edison (SCE); or San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E). It’s just one of many new ways California is incentivizing home owners to invest in solar energy alternatives by essentially paying you to do it!”
Save money while saving the planet!
“What’s not to like?” cheered the Sheep-Bots who trust the government.
Solar roofing services went through the roof. Pardon the pun.

Sharon Broberg wrote a Letter to the Editor in the latest edition (Jan. 20, 2022) of the Santa Barbara Independent (“Whose Sunlight Is It?”) …
“PG&E, SoCal Edison, and San Diego Gas & Electric have lobbied the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to make consumer solar twice as expensive as it is today — by charging a solar penalty fee between $56 and $91 per month just for putting solar panels on a house, and slashing the credit solar users receive for sharing their surplus energy with the community.”
According to the same source …
“As John Perlin said in his editorial ‘No More Rooftop Solar,’ this proposal ‘would allow utilities to own the sun and force everyone to pay for photons.”
